TS1000 intensity

The guideline of 30-50 Watts per square foot that @MarshydroTina gave you is probably a general number they've been giving customers for years now but it's really based on blurple tech which is not as efficient. The TS-1000 is actually a quantum board with white light technology, what that means is it's efficiency is far above their normal blurple lights. 150 Watts of TS-1000 gives out alot more light then what a blurple light with same wattage would do and that's the problem with recommending lights based on wattage, it does not take the light's efficiency into consideration.

All that being said however, i still say the TS-1000 is really stretching it for a 2.5x2.5, 5 square feet is the max area i'd use it at. Sure it will cover that 2.5x2.5 area but the coverage at the edges won't be good enough in flower.

Anyway as for light height distances, this should help you:

Between 200-400 PPFD: This is great for seedlings, clones, and mother plants.

Between 400-600 PPFD: This is great for early to late stage vegging cycles.

Between 600-900 PPFD: This is great for the flowering, fruiting, or budding stage of plants.

Knowing these numbers all you have to do now is figure out how much PAR your light outputs at a certain height. Looking at their website, 24" will do 325 so that's perfect for veg, maybe drop it down to 20"-22" during late veg stretch. You can ask Mars Hydro for the numbers at lower heights... Hope this helps.
helps a bunch. thanks

hi,
I am going to put two TS1000’s in a 36x60 so basically 2 2.5 x 2.5 areas which according to the specs of the light should be ok for 2 plants. I also see people putting two and three plants in a 3x3. And the intensity seems too high for the 4 week old cheese auto under it. I have raised it due to leaf curling twice. The leaf curling may be due to other environmental factors. Any ideas on how many plants can realistically fit under these lights? Seems like it might be more than 2.

I'm running 1 (soon to be 2) of these and have had no seedling issues with the intensity at full power. I start at 70cm/28" and allow to grow nearer. To the eye the TS1000 drowns out the 220w Blurple

Do you plan on using them during flower? It would be encouraging to see a successful grow using one. I am thinking a ts2000w @300w is needed for flower.

Used throughout grow on this HSO Blue Dream Auto, yielding 3.5oz.

This plus some slower dried branches

@MarshydroTina can you please explain why the math doesn't work for the recommended wattage? Recommended is 30w-50w per sq ft. for a 2.5 x 2.5 area the minimum would be 187w. yet ts1000 docs say the 150w light is good for 2.5 x 2.5 area.
