New Grower Two Schools of Thought .

Correct me if I'm wrong but there appears to be two schools of thought on the subject of growing A.F indoors . One school suggests that it is possible to grow plants much the same as you would your normal African Violets . Germinate them ,stick them in a window , water them, feed them and wait for them to flower. The other school suggests a much more elaborate plan which includes grow tents , 20/4 lighting ,complex feeding plans etc , etc ,etc . This is of course a simplified account of what goes on but you get the idea.I also realize that reward is determined by the amount of time , effort , and money that one is prepared to invest in grow project . I am of course expecting your comments on the above . :no:

The other school suggests a much more elaborate plan which includes grow tents , 20/4 lighting ,complex feeding plans etc , etc ,etc . This is the best way.you get out what you put in.If your going to grow them you might as well do all you can to promote the healthiest envierment you can so it will be worth while for your time.

Like Nam says you only get out what you put in.
I have done autos on a window sill south west facing (lowryder #1) and you can get some bud and it will get you stoned but yield will be poor.
You also can only do this in the summer months in Northern Europe.
By giving the plant exactly what it needs, it will reward you with a far superior crop, nice yields better crystal formation and better flavor.
Be good to your self and get an indoor set up, you don't have to spend a lot, some growers start on a shoe string budget using domestic cfl's and get ok yields which are still better than a widow sill yield.
As time passes you can buy better equipment bit by bit until you have your self a really nice set up producing very nice yields of dense hard nugs.
