Mephisto Genetics Tyrone Special

The calyxes continue to swell up and they have started to drink a little more water (at day 40)

Hey Hubba,

They sure got some height on, considering they only are in 7,5 liter air-pots.

I have been testing the height on the Gavita with this run (having it high) 125+ cm from the seedlings and then kept at the height throughout the grow.

Also taking into consideration is (Environment, Soil, Nutrients)

Really curios to see how they will progress the next 20 so days, they really started to fill in at day #39/40.

Hey 4n12c was going through your thread and i came across this post…. surprised no one has said anything, but your light is way to high for a 400w, hence the stretching the sweet spot for that light should be around 30cm-35cm 0r 12"-14" from the top of the plant Here is a light distance guide for future reference. Good luck with the rest of the grow.

Hey Hazy,

Thanks for the post. Please dont take this as a critic etc. im grateful for Your post.

I have prior had the light closer with autos and this time around wanted to see how it fared with a distance that is more than the various people / charts say use. Kinda like a greenhouse with sup.

The new digital ballast, especially Gavita put out a bit more heat than regulars and using HPS the heat is even "worse" (2c more on average, compared to MH)

There is no doubt, had the light been dropped and moved accordingly to stretch, the development should have been better than it currently is. ie. slightly higher yields, due to an eventually bit more node building and extra energy to the plant, due to closer to lights, which would again have raised some more leaves, which would give even more energy when they get hit by the light.

Compared to Tangs grow, day 5,10,etc. (yes many variabales)

The growth of these, hasnt been wicked nor anything, actually they have quite good (above average) but the questions is, how they would have looked, had they been blasted with "proper" lightning.

All the best and thanks for posting in Sir !

There swell started to kick in at day #46 and the Trichome production is also upped.

So very interesting to see Tyrone grown under differing conditions. They are so tall!
I want to see those main colas fill in... 2 more weeks.

Your colas look chunkier than mine. There is something I like about fat calyces piling up on top of each other.

Hey Hubba,

Spot on, its super cool to be able to compare the differences, especially with soil volume and lightning.

Its also interesting to see the results with the MH only, maybe that and/or the height of the light.

Happy weekend !
