Hey guys, new grower here. I was just wondering if i should worry about nutrient levels while using a self watering container eg. keeping nutes even lighter since, in theory, the plant is being constantly watered. Or am I just way overthinking the process.

is it drain to waste or recirculating? like a drip system?

no, its a pot but functions like a earth box, same idea, but as a 2 gallon pot. every 3-4 days i just fill the res.

not a big fan of self watering pots personally. I like to let my ladies dry out a bit and make the roots work by having to stretch into the unused water. That and it ensures that there is time for fresh oxygen to reach the root structure as well. just my 2c

ya,i thought about that to, i was thinking i could let the res dry out for a day or two. i thought using the pot just may be a little more easy to keep in my small closet.

I run two plants in a closet 2' deep, 4' wide and roughly 6' tall. I just do the water by weight deal. Get a good feel for how heavy they are solidly watered the pick them up daily to get a feel for how they weigh in as they lose water. Once you notice they are light and good and dry water em again until you get 10% runoff. Over the course of about two weeks you will know exactly when your girls need water. It is a little more time consuming but personally i think its the best way to go.

makes sense, im still learning , so im sure i will over complicate things. im going to grow outdoors soon in grow bags which will be a whole new problem

Im new as well, still on my first grow here. Just repeating what ive read here and what has seemed to work for me during my venture so far. GL with your grows bro lotsa green karma your way!
