Lighting UV Lights

I read somewhere that HPS lights also generate UV but the glass has a barrier to stop the UV. So, is it possible that the same thing can happen with HPS?

edit - UV protection barrier crumble like in CFLs, but in HPS.

I use 1 100watt uvb bulb on all my grows. I center it on the plant and run it on a 18 time cycle along with my other lights.
Since starting this regiment, I have noticed a dramatic increase in trichome production. I also use a raw sugar and unsulphured molasses mixture during the last 2 weeks, no nutes as a flush. You can easily take a 15% strain to 22 to 23% during the last 2 weeks.

Welcome to AFN Organic :)

Sounds like you know your sugars :)
Hey - why not pop up a hello over at introductions for a nice warm welcome from our members and a shiny badge ^_^

Looking forward to seeing you journal!

Raw sugar? I been using Agave nectar and molasses 50/50 since the 2nd week of veg, but was about to stop now that my flush is about to start. I read that flushing with molasses until chop can result in a "burnt sugar" taste, and that's why I cut the molasses/agave nectar when my flush started last time. Is that true? Should I cut the molasses, and just carry on with the agave nectar? Does raw sugar have a better result than nectar and molasses?

This is how I ran UVB bulbs. Starting 3 rd week of flowering, 1 hr a day, in the middle of the cycle 6 hrs after lights cut on. Gradually increase to 4 hrs a day. Much more than that is not helping.
No more than about 10% UVB and at least 24" above canopy.

Whattype of bulbs Guerilla and Organic Mechanic? The Green Bandit - Agave nectar, now that is exotic. Not heard of that being used before - nice one.

Thanks, Guerrilla. Did you notice major or minimal differences after using the uvb? I was considering adding time, but wasn't too sure. I think I'll go ahead and increase an hour each week up until the 48 hour blackout
