Hi there, as the temperatures start to drop it causes me some issues with heat.

The solution for me would be to have lights running 24/7 which can be very costly with my current hps setup that I run at 18/6. so my question is does anybody have any experience with these cheap LED'S? it would only be used as a temporary measure during the colder months so maybe for one run per year.

Any help would be appreciated. of course I know for the price I would not be getting the best but would they do the job ?

I grow with my led light chugging around the clock, 24/7. Why not timer the light, so it runs during the cold hours? In my case, I utilize and old, wooden 2 drawer file cabinet stripped out. I put an oil filled heater inside and push right up to my tent window. The inline fan sucks the heat in and all is well and toasty.

Bro check out my current grow please!!! It's called 10 plant west coast og in the fast buds grow section, I am currently growing with all vipar spectra lights I have a 1200w a 900w and a 300w all going 24:7 in my 5x5 tent and I'm looking at well over a pound harvest closer to 2 lb harvest from not even a 1000 in lights

of coarse they grow good weed but they are no comparison to a panel with Cree. Those epistar leds cost around .4 cents each and since they are so cheap the light to heat output is very poor. 1gpw is average with these but 1.5-2gpw is possible with Cree. You really do get what you pay for.

What would make the difference of using a Cree led? How much would it change my yield if I'm already getting 4 to 6 ozs of high quality bud... On top of the costs for these leds are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more expensive! So if I'm getting a consistent 4 to 6 ozs per Autoflower now (strain and breeder depending) with I guess these . 4 leds... That means with these Cree leds I would be getting a half pound plus per plant! Just trying to understand the benefits..... Would have to be magnificent for me to spend a 1000 on some lights! I see guys using lights that are 1200 bucks getting 80 gr per plant! Idk... I guess so. I will stick with my Wellspar and vipar and enjoy all the high quality smoke I can!

Pretty much all leds will do well with a good grower. 4-6 oz plants is not as much about the light as how you may have adapted to it or your own skill.

Most people are converting their lights into cob lights for very little money. Typical mars 600 conversion is around 100$.

As for the reasoning behind wanting to switch to cobs is the efficiency. Efficiency is photons to heat ratio. Epistar leds are in the 20% efficiency range meaning 20% of every watt is actually light and 80% of each watt is heat. Now heat may not be noticed since they have a bunch of fans blowing the air around and their wattage is typically low with a ridiculous wattage claim. Certain cobs and cobs that most of us use are in the 50% efficiency range which is more than double the epistar. You may not achieve 150% more yield but you will absolutely do better with them once you adjust. There will be much less heat per watt and much more light per watt. The spectrum is better and the life span is nearly forever. I have close to 100 of these cobs running at full flower between 2 rooms and yields do top 4-6 per plant. Typically 6-8 oz per plant I also do this with the cheapest nutrients available lol.

hope this helps. Any more questions I'd be happy to help.
