New Grower Virgin growner fist attempt

That's actually a little bigger than I thought, my apologies. Still not quite used to cm and metric. You should probably be fine, dude. :D

What the hell is wrong with you Squid?! Note to Self: Don't take three gravity bong hits of Blueberry at 7am and try and talk lights.

:crying: SO...I don't know what I was on about, but I was wrong. That space is pretty damn small for an HPS IMO. I've seen a 150 and 250 in action and they're pretty hot. Don's right about them compared to T5 or LED. They are the coolest as far as I know. But cfl aren't THAT hot IME. In that space you're only going to be able to fit one plant really, or you could squeeze two. That's about a foot and a half at it's longest side. I say about 5-23 watt cfls would do it for you. That's 115 watts. That is my suggestion. :D

What are you using for ventilation again?

madness: D

I regret it!
I hope a small HPS will be good.
I need 75W-100W from CFL for a sqft. My area is 2 sqft. Based on this, I will need 150-200W CFL, isnt it?
In the previous posts I write whitch would be CFL set. around 150W.
"The 6 veg cfl gives me 7452 lumen, and the flo bulbs 8580 lumen."
This small HPS gives me 20000 :S (150W)
And if I try it with the smallest HPS? (100W, 12000L)
Or any ideas on how I could cool it? Maybe with some homemade cool tube , or put a glass plate bettwen the bulb and the plants.

I want to use 1X12cm (4.7 in) for the the incoming air, 1X12cm for the outgoing air, 1X12 in the end of the lamp (only for cooling the bulb, and dissipate heat to the output slot), and 1X12cm what circulates the air inside.
I will really happy if I can use the HPS someway. I told before I be able to rise the height of to box, to 130-140 cm. It does not help?

I think now we're getting somewhere. A home-made cool-tube of some sort along with the ventilation you mentioned would make it proper I would think. I would just try it out and see. You want more air getting pulling out than in. So a fan powerful enough to exhaust out through the light and cool tube and that will create negative pressure through the intake opening and there's no need for a fan on the intake. And then yes, a small fan for circulation inside.

Yes, making your box taller will help for growth and positioning of the light. You wanna start your plants at 24 inches away from the HPS if you start with that light. Always have to take in account how tall the pots and plants are and how much space your fans an lights take up too. Cheers. :D

id drop the 150w hps in i have a 150w cfl and i dont rate it

24" from a 150w hps not sure i can start plant that close under far higher wattages

Honestly I'm no HPS guy but that is what I always see. Good luck mate. I'll be around if you need me. :D

Thanks Guys!
I think I will buy the HPS set in the week with the other tools, but for the Cool Tube I havent got money.
I try to search in AFN how I can make a home made cool tube, but I dont find it. Try to search on internet , but I was dont find there too.
Any idea, or a link? Maybe someone can help me, who know where can I find it. :D
I have some ideas, but still I dont know how high will the heat. If I cant find instructions I will try to experimenting... :)
Tomorrow or the day after the seeds need to be arrived!
I can't wait!! :smokeit:
I want to say THANK YOU again guys! You helped a lot right now!
Any comments or advice are always welcome in the future!
Pics will be updated, when the set is ready to use!

check the temp without the tube first if your extraction is decent you should be ok
for young plants you want to be in the blue part by a few inch
i would think starting at 3000 lumens would be fine over 3 weeks try to get to 7500 lumens or so

Thanks, this chart is great!
I thinking about this cool tube thing. Maybe a simple thick glass plate, what I put between the lamp and the plants.
I hope the small HPS, dont give so mutch heat, and maybe the glass can be enought.
The floor area is 40X45 cm. I think a 20X20cm or 25X25cm glass plate from tempered glass can be good.
Its divide the box, for a lower and upper parts, and maybe the hot stay in the upper part, and I can aspirated out with fans, and I be able to put the lamp closer to the plants. A glass isnt capture the useable light, is it?
If I cant find other way I think I try this.

glass can cut light so try it without it first

YES!!! The girls arrived today!!!:thumbs::thumbs:
Tomorrow after work I'm going to buy the things.
A few days ago, I wrote whitch soil, and nutries I want to use.
(Biobizz Light-Mix pH: 5,5-6,5 , EC: 1-1,2ms/cm2
Biobizz Bio-Grow 0,5 L
(N): 8%
(NH4): 4%
(NO3): 4%
(P2O5): 2%
(K2O): 6%

Biobizz Bio-Bloom 0,5 L
(N): 2%
(NH4): 0.9%
(NO3): 1.1%
(P2O5): 6%
(K2O): 3.5%)

Unfortunately the Biobizz Light-Mix is out of socket :S
I find some similar soil.

Plagron Lightmix 25L
Ph: 5,5 - 6,9
EC: 0,8 - 1,2

Maybe a stupid question, but I dont know the nutries will be fit for this soil?
Couse nutries are already avaiable, but I find some nutries from the same manufacturer.
Plagron Alga Grow 100ml
http://babylon-grow.eu/plagron/plagron-alga-grow-100ml-p-2463.html?language=en

Plagron Alga Bloom 0,25L
http://babylon-grow.eu/plagron/plagron-alga-bloom-025l-p-2479.html?language=en

I'm just thinking...
Maybe the same manufacture product will better to use together, or I can use the biobizz nutries with the Plagron Lightmix?
Maybe a stupid question, but if it isnt, I dont want to spend money for a silly thing...
