Rainwater good. Room temp
Got your pots ready? Give them a good water and drain before you plant.
Sounds like you done some homework and there is no one perfect way. I lost a few early then started doing this....
Soak in distilled water in a shot glass covered in a warm place, in 24 to 48 it should sink tap it after a day to release any air bubbles.
In 24 to 60 you should see that seed crack and a tap root starting then I plant tap root down in wetted. then moistened soil in the final container, but I use a plastic cup with the bottom cut out (tiered) I find it easier to keep the seedling moist in the cup instead of the whole pot and it keeps the leaves off the dirt and a couple more inches for that tap root. small water in the cup and make sure the bottom of the big pot has some moisture for the tap root to chase.
I had a couple struggle shedding the shell I think soaking softens the seed and they hardly ever come up with helmets since I soaked.
And no micro root damage from a paper towel.
Just what works for me, if you take a thing from it and use it with what works for you woo hoo you be smokin some good weed.
