I'm taking his finish times with a grain of salt, but if it's this close to an auto then that'll be OK,... really it comes down to her finish speed and ease of triggering, which if this years experience is any measure should be a snap with a big sudden drop to below 14 from 18+....

I'm not sure where he lives now mate, and HighRise is long since closed shop. Those are all personal crosses or shared stuff maybe? Tent grown only for sure... Outdoors is an unknown!
Down the road here I'll get more details,... might be some of them wouldn't finish in time for you up there, A5(Haze)Thai is a very long cycle cross by itself...

@KIS Tad - great to see you man! Thanks for that paper link, I'll digest that tonight... This is very interesting!

The KIS nute pack mix was on point this time for richness. I added about a 1 cup/10gal soil using 50/50 Empire Builder and King's Mix, some extra EWC too... After that just Si, inoculant, micronutes (EJ Microblast), enzymes for supp's; a few hits of PK boosting via Terp Tea Bloom (3-7-4) or Roots HPK (0-4-3)..
No tip clawing or deep greens, and a nice fade at the end!

This next round coming is a tinkering mix, with a bit less KIS and some Terp Tea Bloom instead to add that extra bit of P for the auto's early appetites,...
Just seedlings now, so be sure to check in about a month from now...
Photo's are loving it of course! A later start this year, they are much smaller than the girls at this time last year... new soil cooking, with the same deal as the auto's, transplant soil is amended with some TTB. We'll see in 10 days who's ready to jump into a bigger pot for the finish! For sure the ChemD/SDHaze half-auto,..maybe that New Malawi Killer x Orange Glue and the Doors x Orig. Haze as well!

I saw the new smaller bag size of the KIS Nute Pack, that's a smart move IMO- ..I've been preaching the Gospels of this stuff, but some balk at the size/price regardless of how good a deal it is relatively speaking. I still have about 1/4 bag left after two round of photos and 4 rounds of autos! I think for folks to just get their toes wet on this sort of gig, a smaller size bag is perfect....

Don't know if this is helpful, but what I find with our soils (which the Nutrient Pack is based on), is that the first things to run out in a small container will be N and K. They are both also highly mobile in soils and can leach with repeated waterings so that's not unexpected. Using it with different potting soils or composts will slightly change the formulation but I think for the most part it shouldn't matter unless they are super high in a nutrient like N. And yes you can you Pro Mix, we have folks who are doing that. I do like to throw a bit a decent compost or EWC in there too if you do, just to increase nutrient cycling.

It looks like you have a good program going relative to your genetics. If you get enough soil you want to re-use it, you can get a soil test with Logan Labs and we can make you a custom Nutrient Pack (no extra charge). I sometimes find Ca will go up with just re-using the Nutrient Pack over and over again without testing, usually due to genetics or alkaline water or other inputs. Just something to watch for if yields start to decline after successive cycles.

Yeah, I can verify that on the N, seems there's a pretty fast release, sometimes a sort of flash release later on, then it's tapped out... Sometimes I get in later veg' a bit of tip roasting, oddly enough. I'll see some lower fans fading not long after that... This year I'm trying to better stay ahead of this, and the TTB stuff seems to have enough N to keep the fade at a slower rate than before... As mentioned, the auto's went like clockwork! The real test is yet to come with the photo's and the transplantings... The girls are all smaller too, by intent having been delayed 2 weeks vs. last years run. I'm still feeling this out though, some are smaller than I wanted for this late in the game, bloom is coming soon and they won't be where I wanted them in some cases ... it's been cooler than usual too during this prime-time veg stage,... Funny, the best performing plants are the Doors x Org. Haze strongly Sati-dom. plants, and the semi-auto ChmDSDHz... Some of the poly-hybrids are well behind in branching and filling out!
I don't water to much run-off, so leaching isn't a real factor... The Si supp' and a product called Sweet Candy (GreenLeaf Nutes) which is carb's, amino's, and some other snacks covers K inputs well, never had a K issue because of this... I also use regular shots of EJ Microblast to keep ahead of micronute demands...

Promix does need some "help" if used for KIS, I agree... Too peat-mucky by itself IMO, but the shitload of perlite they put in helps with that... I have zero plans to mess with soilless stuff, why bother? There are a few mates using it who I think could up their game trying the Nute Pack though, with some other amendments as mentioned...
... lack of a proper space and such prevents me from recycling the soil, sadly,... This drought shit is really screwing with the water quality everywhere! The TDS readings are twice what they were during normal rain seasons. Last I checked it was around 275ppm... In good rain years, the water at the site was down to about 150ppm... I am mindful of the damn CaCO3 accumulations, so I've been cutting the water with RO much as I can!

....true, it's generally better and certainly less fragile, but the whole point of soilless mediums (Promix is just peat, perlite, dolomite) is to be able to pour through tons of nute solution, hence the tons of perlite for speedy drainage and less retention... For KIS soil, unless you're wanting to custom build it from near-scratch, I see no upside vs. using a premium quality soil...

If you're re-using your soil then I think pumice is the way to go. Doesn't float to the surface and lasts way longer than perlite. For one cycle it's probably not a big difference. We use pumice in all our soil mixes for that reason.

I'm moving in that direction with my mixes from this point forwards. It has all those attributes and maybe some good from the magnetism.
I sure had great results when I lived on Oahu.
