Outdoor Waira's '18 Mixed Bag of Tricks Combo Grow

You'll have around 25% go auto at F1. Cross those that auto twice more and you'll have a stable auto. :pass:
 @Mossy ... thanks my friend, great to see you visit! :pighug:..... you know I love ya, but the garga-hound is MINE! :nono: :eyebrows:.... he was a steal from the retail nursery I used to work at,.. I got to work with several of the vendors, and these folks played ball on a deal for him,.. otherwise, such statuary is for the rich only!
.... I'm with you on the OD, and a little surprised at her fat fingers in what's a Sativa dom' Diesel heritage plant,... We'll see in several weeks!
.... Aunty, what do you make of that MoB/OGK x C99a turning out to be an auto at F1? It's HighRise's C99a, so we know that's a solid auto, and Stick is a fine breeder,... I thought it as impossible to get an auto in an F1 crossing,...... it seems her sister which was adopted out is going down the same road too! It makes no sense, unless somehow, somewhere along the background F-lines there was an auto (or semi-auto?) in the woodpile- :hump:...begs the question, and Stick is stumped too,....

@Waira
Did you notice any link to sex as to which auto'ed or not?
With most like the MoB/OG99 and Z6/H-T x CBD Haze auto, these were fems i made. The DV/AKRs were m/f seeds but ended up with all females. Will run the rest of those seeds next year in hopes of finding a nice male.

DV/AKR is by far one of the most Afghani smelling autos I have grown to date. Pollinated it and the Z6/ H-T hack with AoF pollen. AoF is hands down my personal favorite land race Indica. Like taking Valium. Late Night only for stick.

how old is your MoGK99?
She is around 90 days old. She is definitely going into full flower now, which i am excited about. Already throwing off some BB terps. How about yours as far as terp profile?

Peace

Hey @Waira
Sorry i never got back to you via PM on the MoB/OG x C99a autoing issue! Chronic disease I have had most of me life, is back with a vengeance, thus quite ill. Show must go on though.

I continue to find many of the photo x auto F1s are autoing on us, not just my gear. I hit my Z6 x Harle-Tsu F3 with CBD Haze auto fem pollen. I started three to go out in the hoop house this year, 2/3 autoed on me straight away. I also started several Blue Hemp DarthVader= (Hindu Kush x Afgahni) x Hindu Kush(p) x WOS Afgan Kush Ryder F1s that a friend from Germany sent me. Again 2/3 autoed on me. Photo pheno is early and looking great though.

The MoB/OGK mom that i used finished for me great here, thus a fairly fast finisher. Also obviously very Afghan dominant Definitely no LR genes. Here is a picture of her. Shit, I am on a new PC with Windows 10. Tried everything to get the pictures to load vertically, nota. May have to try me old PC for loading pics. Sorry about you having to turn your PC sideways to view pics.

I just went out and snapped these pics of my lonely MoB/OG x C99a. She has been per-flowering quite heavy. Not sure yet if she is going to keep flowering or re-veg on me.Well Ok, looks like old pictures in the folder on my PC show up sideways, but new ones not, maybe...

Wishing you all the best for this season my friend!

Peace,
stick

I run widows 10 as well, and have the same problem with pics take vertically....if you use the edit button before you upload and go into MS paint, you can select the image and crop a slight edge off and it will stay vertical when you post it.

:headbang: :clapper: :greenthumb:---thanks y'all, much enlightening stuff here indeed! I'll be chewing on this for a bit,...:holymoly::smokeout:

>> FD :bighug:.... always a fine visit! :smoking:....... So, the gnats,... I do recall that battle of yours! ..... In this instance, they weren't quite that bad, plus I got on them hard and fast with the Bti fast tea and some surface strafing with spinosad sprays,.. but you know the deal, this is about breaking the generational cycle which takes a little time,... For sure I'll be inspecting the F' out of the roots when they come down though! I don't think they were able to populate in such #'s so as to really put the hurt on the roots though.... And every single plant in that shit, save the most (bug)-exposed MOGK99 is showing the face-first fade-...currently they are few, likely for the outside as this tent is in an outdoor courtyard,... I think there's something that's fucked up the CEC in there,.... Oh, the Ful-Power!-- I love it so far, but still am on my first bottle,.. there's a great info article in the reference section mate, worth a look concerning humic-fulvics,... this stuff is all low molecular weight (size) stuff, so the plant can actually take it in, chelated nute ion and all! .... things like EDTA do not, and must be "disassembled" on site before the nute ion can go in,.. so this makes it superior for chelation, especially in foliar applications,....
Interesting, you haven't seen F1 auto's, and here Aunty is working with significant overlap in the gene pool, and she has,... See, this is why I want to get @Sweet Seeds Tommy and @Sweet Seeds Jay in here to add what they know about their F1FV line, and why theirs don't auto, or perhaps some do, but are rejected for breeding,... I'm sure @gennaro-fs and @Biotabs F69 Mr.K will have insights too!
I want to get more info on the Botanical/paleo-evolutionary aspects of Cannabis. Of course, with plants, and little to no fossil records, there's a lot of unknowns about it's evolution, to say nothing of how the planet itself has changed from continental drift over the 10's -100's of millions of years, and mass extinction events! Add humans into the mix (albeit very recently, geo-temporally speaking), carrying it all over the place = :help: :confused1: ...... The classification is redone as you know, splitting all industrial/hemp into C. sativa, and all drug cultivars into C. indica, with some subspecies designated like afghanica,... I always thought ruderalis was the "reverse engineered" branch, that all cannabis is normally photoperiod sensitive, but rudi's have evolved a bypass of sorts to this as a survival/reproduction strategy,....
Huh, I haven't thought about the stem hollowing, stem grooves and leaf width in those terms,.. is there something you saw botanically speaking relating to this? (oh BTW, that groove conducting, made me think of the Thorny Devil lizard!... their amazing hide is made to channel water from dew or surface puddles directly to their mouths!)... It seems there could be several possible reasons for hollow vs. solid stems,.. leaf width as it's related to light gathering vs. rain,... for light it also makes sense, as a large surface area means more energy production, good for shorter season plants like non-equatorial canna' which doesn't have has nearly a full year season like narrow leafed types,... If that's a thing,.. I'm sure there are mountainous cultivars that have narrow leaves,...( I cite Astro's landrace strain grow of Purple Paro Valley from Bhutan)... I'm trying to remember if the Cannalope Haze and Acapulco Golds (the most sati-dom' plants I've grow so far) were solid or hollow,... we know that structurally, hollow "tubes" are stronger per weight than solid,... In contrary thinking to yours, it would seem logical that high-rain area cultivars would have hollow stems, since absorbing and moving moving water isn't as much of an issue as those from arid climates and needing solid stems (more xylem) to facilitate better faster conductivity of water/nutes,...:shrug:Hmmmm...
....the presence of the day neutral genomes in all cannabis does make sense,... but this is where the heavy-duty complexity of having vs. expressing comes in, along with all the associated factors that govern such events! :eyebrows: - as noted by Magic here,... ( I'm not sure the real nitty-gritty biological details of this are well studied?) .... Magic brudda, thanks for chiming in and for visiting! :d5:... holy crap, a 3-way auto cross gone full photo?? ...that would be a figurative multi-planet aligning event! Agreed man, the whole heritibility is much more complex than that,... like that article quote says, it's whole "blocks" of the genome that are involved,... throw in the mixing-up that crossover brings during meiosis,.. and you can get WTF jaw slacking outcomes like the aforementioned photo from all auto stock!? :help: :wiz: :confused1: :haha: ..... yeah, I see what you mean by there not literally being an "auto gene",... many such expressions are called "labile",... even sex in some fish is like this! Several species exist mainly as females, only a single dominant male is a given territory, and he was a she before that! Also consider certain lizard species, all female isolated populations, reproducing (laying eggs) by parthenogenisis,... Genetics,...are weird and amazing,:yoinks:
cool2.gif
.... Guys, let's see what these breeders have to say about all this! :thanks:

... oh, Stickmate- :smoking: ... for me, first thing to do is reduce the MB size of the pics on the camera,.. I set my older beater camera to lower res', but that still takes 2-3MB pics,.. too damn big! So like Skelly mentioned, once you load them onto the computer, right click a given pic, find "open with", and select Paint.... you can use the Resize feature to knock it down in MB/KB size, and also there's a rotate feature as well,.. I reduce my pics to 30%, and res' stays plenty good for forum purposes,... blow up becomes pixelated, but the forum software limits size anyway, so there are other ways to blow up a pic and keep good res',...
 roger that on the sex link angle,...:thanks:.... Oh man, you're killin' me again with the AoF! If I had been in earlier, better position this season,... :eyebrows:.... Stick, please post a pic of your MOGK99! My girls is in early fuzzy crown stage, no real trich's to rub just yet,... As you can see, her bones are bulletproof :amazon:... very hardy my man, she's the only plant in that Vermicrap that isn't going TARFU on me! .... I can't wait to see what aroma's shake out of this stellar mix! :woohoo1:

mud wrestle in your bean field? :haha: no way, I'm convinced you have webbing 'tween yer toes at this point mate!

Et Moi...?............:eyebrows:

In theory the Punnett/Mendel square does not lie, it can't its simple math. Ever hear about the girl who was assigned a task to learn the square by taking her blood types and those of her parents to see where hers came from and she found out her daddy wasnt her daddy? Thats because if its in there it will come out but if its not then there is something missing. Just like a simple puzzle.

Ha ha ha @FullDuplex ..there you have it....:eyebrows:...If something breaks the known Rules....you Have to go back and check your Originals..check they are what you were sold.

Gotta say...coming from a Competitive growing culture....it is Not Unusual for a Breeder Not to tell you Everything they put in a cross...coz if they did...we could All do it...:headbang:...so I worked on the premis there was something in the Originals that we weren't Told about....hence the Theory about a little Fast Afghan dom in the Original mix..that we didn't know about.

Well, that seals it- Clearly there's more going on with this than what simple Mendel squares dominant/recessive heritability patterns indicate,.... I wonder if @FullDuplex has experienced this as well,... I'll ask @Magic and @Ronin .... @GoAuto6 ...maybe tug on some other sleeves at Sweet, Biotab's Mr. K, Female's Gennaro,.... Sweet especially, since they are the F1FV kings .... Did you notice any link to sex as to which auto'ed or not?

I Did...:headbang:...or at least the Male was easier to spot that females.

I Used it in the Original Auto hybrid hunt. He was small and fast...as we were hunting Auto and I needed to reduce the height of my girls it seemed to me that the fastest way to catch it would be to go with the fastest/smallest male.. and that was Him...

Also obviously very Afghan dominant Definitely no LR genes.

Me and thee working in the same gene pool ..could be why..or not.....I have spent many an hour Thinking about it...with no resolve in my head......just Pet Theories...

I have also seen phenos in pure photo crosses that Act Auto.......if you know what I mean...quacking like a duck.....but pure photo by definition.

Maybe they just decided to Work something like that into the Original...and we can't quite work it out...(My Bets is still on a small fast affy..)

Maybe it never was Rudi and they sold us a Pup....to stop us being able to Copy easily....:headbang:..t'wouldn't be the first tie that was pulled by a Breeder wanting to protect his work.

well i believe that the Day neutral is in all canna,

Oh..That's where My Betting is coming from....:headbang:

@Waira I've seen autos in F1 it happens often. Why IDK I can't pretend to know the answer.

:headbang:

I've also seen a 3 way full auto cross be photosensitive.
When it comes to cannabis I honestly believe we been Hoodwinked on using punnets when "breeding". I cant name one strain on the market that got to what it what the they wanted because breeder followed "punnet" method. I see everyone is chasing traits and traits can not be configured on a punnets square

That is [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] solution...:headbang:...I don't have the degree/tech to prove it out..but to me all Law's are there to be Challenged.
If you can't Prove something............Disprove it......

You cross an Auto White Widow x Photo Black Jack you will only got two parents you offspring will either be WW Dom BJ Dom or a mix of both there won't be a 4th "auto pheno" we are creating an imaginary phenotype by saying auto gene. Even a punnet square falls short when you do an auto photo cross on it. Where does the "auto" come in? All plants have a "Flowering" gene that is scientifically proven it's also been proven some plants have the ability to switch that gene off but those plants are not considered a "new" plant it's the same as it always been same with thing with cannabis. If you correctly breed a photo to auto genetically they would not differ. You will have to versions of the same plant, cannabis twins if wanna call it something

This is always Easier for people to See/understand in pure black and white...without prejudice...

If you cross a black african father to a white european mother the resultant children could be white or black..or any colour in between dependent on genetic dominance in the crosses you started with ...:headbang:

Now..in terms of what we have in Autos......I have seen photo...I have seen Auto...I Think we have all seen Fast Flower...which is not Quite either Auto or photo...
Personally I have seen a Huge Auto...with a much extended grow time....and I have seen 1 Huge Auto with a Super fast finish time...Once...:headbang:

So maybe we are looking at a Everything in between cross that we haven't got 'round to exploring/naming...defies the Set Rules on both Auto and photo...

@Magic ...you saw a 3 way turn photo....?....did it pistil up under 20-24 hours light then go back into veg until you dropped the light...:headbang:
Yes I have a strain out for testing now called Magic Trick that is a 3 way auto cross and so far all have been photoperiod no sex until I flipped to 12/12. I have some mid way thru flower have not thought about putting back in 20/4 to see if that keep flowering I'll have to try that with the next batch I got germinating soon.

:baked: buzzed, stuffed and sleepy,... so just some pics for now....

>>> @iampepe :pass: ...missed the shout out to you mate! Thanks for chiming in,.. do you breed as well? :eyebrows:... I'm curious as to your quote on about 25%, could you expand on that some?
