From the distance of your pic, it looks like brown soft scale. My ferns, outdoors, sometimes have them. Check this:

Weird, but surprisingly common, plant pest... And, it does look like black coffee drops on the plants.

Yes thats them! i think ill manually remove them all. they freak me out

I agree on the scale. They bore into the stems and suck the sap from the plant. Their excrement can then attract ants. You want to suffocate them. Treating with insecticidal soap should take care of them.

i just rubbed them all off with my finger and they kind of turn into dust. whenever i see one ill just do that. ive got a serious spider mite infestation im trying to deal with at the mo which im focused mainly on. i swear its one thing after another with these plants!

Insecticidal soap will also kill the spider mites.
