Well. Things are going downhill fast

It’ll be good when an expert has time to get here. I’m definitely not one!

I know you said they were “pretty dry” and that the pots were “pretty light” but I’m still suspicious of over-watering. If your plants were dropping from being too dry and you watered them, you should see the leaves pick up and return to a normal stature within a few hours. Certainly within 6 hours they should be sticking straight out without any droop. If that DOESNT happen, I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that you are over-watering. Lots of those symptoms could sure be over-watering, including the dropping of leaves.

When my fabric pots are dry and the plants are ready to start dropping, the pots aren’t “pretty” light, they feel feather-light to me. I read a good tip: to have a reference weight, take a spare pot and fill it with your soil that’s DRY. Totally dry! When in question. Pick up that test pot and then pick up your planted pot and they should feel just about equal in weight. If it doesn’t, you’re not dry! If I feel ANY moisture at all when I stick my index finger as deep as I can in the soil, it’s not dry or necessarily in need of water.

Well you are right I had been overwatering but ...they were dry this time, so dry the branches were pointing down and leaves were drying up and falling off the stems. they aren’t doing that now and the drooping on blue amnesia went from awful to much better.. you could hear the soil drinking when they got watered. Sounds like rice krisPies cereal.

I had been watering for enough runoff to test with one of those 9$ ph pens but I think it was too much? This time I did not water to get enough runoff to test and stopped when the first few drops came out. I ended up using like 1/2 the water I usually use.. anyways I think they were happy for the water but they aren’t getting this food I’m giving them. I don’t think. The blue amnesia doesn’t looked locked out but the other two do, and there might be a build up in the sol from the looks of things.. maybe a pro can chime in..

I’m sorry I haven’t hadn’t better information other than pictures and my terrible descriptions, I’ve been waiting weeks for this expensive ph pen, it may not save these girls but hopefully it can prevent this or at least leave me able to give some basic information. The moment I have the probe in hand I’ll post results

Thanks for the links I had already read the GWE guides on that but the first link is new to me. The plants I’m about to start are going into roots organic soil / perlite and a small amount of happy frog I have left, it should be enough to start 2 Pineapple Express or diesel in 5 gallon fabric pots I have a list of all the things I’m doing differently this time.. starting with weighing the soil in the pots before any water is ever added so I know the dry weight. I have a bathroom scale I’ll move nearby to check weights.

In the mean time, I really hope there’s something I can still salvage with these 2 girlscout plants or at least get the blue amnesia to turn around and make something of her since she is younger and not so badly effected yet. Hopefully the ph probe / moisture meter will reveal something

Hope you turn it around buddy. Bear in mind for next grow that dry weight of pot will increase as the plants get bigger, not sure the weighing would work.

Update.. instead of the PH probe finally arriving today after almost a month.... well not quite but I ordered this at the beginning of the month and they just keep delaying it and delaying it.. Tracking says it’s still across the country and never left the state it came from. And they wait until today to let me know that... now it says Saturday delivery but they don’t even know where it is

I just really don’t have words for how pissed I am right now .. I’m at a total loss what to do here, I seriously can’t believe this happened

Who did you order from? What state are you in? Amazon got mine to me, back when, in just a few days.

Don’t weigh the bags - it isn’t an exact science. Just fill a similarly sized pot with the same soil or something pretty similar. Use a soil that’s totally dry and fluffy. Use that as a reference. Pick it up with both hands like you will pick up a plant. Feel the weight. Then go pick up a plant. If it feels the same as the test bag and very very close, it’s time to water. If it’s noticeably heavier than your reference bag, it’s NOT time to water.

Maybe @Waira will check in before long. HE’s the guy to listen to - not me! Lol! You can take his advice to the bank!

I’m just not sure what to do with them now, they seem to have stopped getting worse though, so I’m wondering if they were happy with drying out a bit and then getting fed with the calmag MC SC and BE? I’m hesitant to say they stopped getting worse because I don’t want to jinx it.. I’m making sure they dry out good this time and my plan is to feed them again the same @ 6.5 ph. Hopefully this seller on amazon will get back to me soon so I can resolve this situation with the ph probe that’s taking a month to cross the country

Here is a picture update... the blue amnesia looks so much happier than she did a few days ago her leaves are actually not pointing down and falling off now and the other two look the same but.... they stopped looking worse and they actually got a little frosty

I wonder how much time they have? I mean I don’t wanna get my hopes up but maybe they’re not dead just quite yet? Maybe they liked the new food? Idk nothing else really changed I did water then a bit less this time like half the water. They aren’t dry yet so.. I’ll keep checking em all and hopefully when the probe comes tomorrow I can find out what the root or soil ph is, finally

So, have you been feeding with every watering? I’ve kinda lost track. Most people alternate feed/water/feed/water. Unless the are feeding a very light amount each time. If you’re throwing full strength nutes at them every time, that might be your problem. It could lead to toxicity.

If they were drooping and perked up within a couple hours of getting additional liquid, whether it was plain water or a feeding, then they were underwatered. If they are looking better after several days without getting water, you may very well have been giving them too much water.

FWIW- my big photos in 7gallon fabric pots go through about 4 gallons of H2O a week. 2 gallons at a feeding at the beginning of a 7 day period and 2 gallons of plain water 3-4 days later. My autos, in 5 gallon pots drink about 2-2.5 gallons of water a week - they get 1/2 of that in a feeding and the other half a few days later. These are just approximations. Each plant is a bit different.
