New Grower What happens to stressed Male Plants?

I have two male plants I have separated from the girls for obvious reasons.

The thing is, is the males have been under 26w (or something like that)CFL. The girls are in the cab doint fine. But my lighting for the males has been inconsistant at best. plus, the lights go on and off all day. Maybe they will turn herme, lol.

The have produced the pollen I want, now I am just growing them out to maturity, so we can use them in salves balms and rubs. So the way we look at it, the bigger the plant the better.

Also, this time we will be adding the pollen from the plant to our oils. This will be a first for us, and we have never heard of anyone using the pollen in thier whole plant oils before. As our theory is the whole plant is the key to whole health, we must add pollen yes?

What is your opinion. Comments appreciated.

Couldn't hurt, right? And there's bound to be latent pollen coating the outside of the male as it is, now it might not be viable, but I'm sure its there. No harm in adding more.

Potency of male plants is highly underestimated. All parts of canna plant are beneficial and I use everything without roots.

I made oil from 2 males and some fan leaves and stalks just yesterday. Absolute hammer :ama:
I always get very strong oil with males :group:

If your males have less than 10 hours light they would probably hermi.

That is kinda in line with my thinking, unless it caused an allergy or something, but then once it is liquified, the allergy could be gone too. Also, you say there is pollen anyways, just minor amoounts, so we prolly would already know about the allergy part, yes?

I didnt say that. StoneD did.... IMO they will be weak and may not produce viable pollen.. Males need good light to produce quality pollen, but your not breeding your harvesting for balms and rubs????

Sorry, I wasn't suggesting you said that, just noting your comment was saying that herme, and a few pistils are'nt really the same thing. But I think I have the idea, and thanks taking the time to comment. Also, we use all forms of the plant to make oils, yes. I am trying to use the pollen to create the seeds, and thank you for the information on pollen. I didn't realize that the pollen had to be treated a certain way for viability.
