New Grower what tent height ? is 2 metres really necessary !

hello guys

guess whos back its me again :tiphat: i was just wondering for my new tent will i really benefit from it being 2 metres tall or could i go for a smaller one im only ever going to be growing autos in some 30l airpots with a 600w cooltube, could i get a 1.40m or 1.60m tall tent instead it seems that autos dont get too big whatever the strain would i really benefit from the 2 meter tall tent any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated

Mine is 2.3 tall and im running out of space to raise my lights. Better off with a bigger space you're not using than running out of space.

It all depends on your prefence and growing style, if your happy to do scrog or heavy lst then smaller can be considered but then you are bound to those growing styles in the small set up. If you want the option to leave your plants to grow more naturally then the minimum you should be considering would fall around the 1.8m.

Taking into consideration say 20-30cm pot/tub, small to medium sized autos grow anywhere from 40cm to 1m tall depending on lights and nutrition.

Lets say your plants reach in the middle somewhere and top out at 70cm + 30cm for pot/tubs and your left with 80cm for lights filter etc.

Reread and see you use a cool tube, im not sure on the way these work so regarding canopy distance etc not sure if it is like led but i would imagine you still need at least 30-45cm + or 1ft-1.5ft distance from the canopy.

If you can get a tent with side access windows as they make life easier if working with multiple plants to check on things etc

fabulastic so ill keep it at 2 metres tall i much rather let the plant do its strech in the most natural way and gloomshade you must have some decent produce on the go !!! i definately dont want to run out of space thanks very much guys great help

That's only cus u use 5w chips mate, personally I think your be fine with a 1.6 with a cool tube bro

Take into consideration how much space the carb filter and fan is going to take up but I think your be fine. Go for some low bushy strains and make sure u LST.

my filter will be inside not to far from the cooltube and the exhaust on the outside i really dont want to be restricted when it comes to strains only autos but in any shape form and strain !!! maybe i could consider 1.80m just to be on the safe side but for an extra 10 euros i get the 2 m im not looking to cut corners just when i think about it 2m seems pretty tall,taking into consideration light pot and average plant growth id say its more an esthetique thing than anything else !!!

Well i just put a 1.2x1.2x2 tent up.(usually use a 0.8x0.8x160). and my smaller one works fine with all the gear at top using L.E.D's or HPS, if u wasn't using a cooltube i could prolly see the issue and i wouldn't go for a 140cm as that is TOO small. 160-180 will be fine for you trust me. When i put the 2m tent up i didn't realise how big it was going to be and its massive, but its up to u bro. i thought space was an issue thats all.

my carbon filter is 20cm large which is the biggest of the two think really its probally a matter of a couple of cm compared to led and normal mh/hps lights and the filter will be higher than the cooltube which is 15cm large have you ever had issues in the 1.60m with plants touching the celing/lights with any auto strain that you might have tried ? thanks for your help much appreciated just trying to get things spot on

Never had them go anywhere near the top mate. Just try grow indica's and not sativa's as they grow long and tall. I use L.E.D now anyway and don't have problems either just gotta choose wisely my friend.

cheers buddy i can knock off a couple of cm then i bet you was surprised with the 2m tall tent i dont think we actually realise the actual size until its sitting in front of us, happy growing bro the led setup looks pretty awesome !!!
