Hi, so my first ever grow of 2 plants (same strain) is in its 4th week and up until now barring a few minor issues everything has been going well using the biotabs starter kit. Then all of a sudden one of my plants has just decided to go crazy dark green and shrivel up while the other one is fine. Same environment, temps have been good autopots have been on for about a week and a bit.

From reading it would seem to be nitrogen toxicity but then after more reading that should be borderline impossible using biotabs. My water is soft (confirmed by waira in an infirmary thread) so what have i done wrong? Is it overwatering? How have i managed that with autopots? (Biobizz light mix and clay pebbles at the bottom) Im stumped . Gone from a lovely healthy rapidly growing plant to this in a couple of days.

hey davesond sorry to hear about your trobles you say it week four have you had the valve open on the auto pot since the start when did you start the automated watering i also assume your not using a airdome in the pot also a few more details might help out what light how far away they are humidty and temps would all help build a better picture for us to help you figure this out :pass:

Sorry my bad on not enough details just stressing haha:shrug:.

Growing in a tent (passive intake, 4 inch in line fan and carbon filter for extraction) under 2 vero 29 c (1per plant) driven by a meanwell HLG-240h-c1400a driver but got them turned right down so should be 50w per cob. 24inches away. Humidity is stable at around 55% and temps have been steady and consistent 24.4c - 24.7c lights on and 19.8-20.2 lights off with a 20/4 light cycle.

15l autopots, no airdome, filled with 1-2 inches of clay pebbles, the rest with biobizz light mix and biotabs starter kit were switched on at day 17 i think, several days after the initial soak with orgatrex etc. (Medium was dry to the first knuckle) Since then nothing other than water and the other plant seems like she couldnt be happier which is the weird thing to me. Only started showing these symptoms since sunday.

Thanks for the reply and hopefully you have some wisdom for me :smoking:

Oh and as a precaution trays drained and res switched off. Also got a little in my own head and dug the remnants of 1 of the 2 biotabs out which in hindsight was probably a mistake so go me for taking action when i have no clue what im doing :d5:

we have all been there mate pulled a seedling out of a pot last year because it was being finiky threw it into a random small pot in the corner two weeks later she was over taking her sister who got all the attention not sure what my point was there but its all part of the game gotta make mistakes and do random things to learn :pass:

Thanks man, took your suggestion and raised my lights to 36 inches and also moved them from directly under them. Even if its not what it is it cant hurt and its something i hadnt considered so nice one you may have saved her lol.

Its horrible to think ive been slowly cooking them the whole time

Good morning:coffee2:

Hm, definitely COB'S have been to close for week 4, 31"-36" sounds good to me, heard from some grobro's here having problems with biotabs, in one case the tab didn't melt as it should, so the plant was underfeed and in the other case tab melted to fast, so plant got burned heavily!
To me it looks a little bit like overwatered, couldn't be or? and xould plz upload a pic of the healthy plant to compare? i'm not using biotabs-->no experience!
maybe @Ryker604 can help out or know somebody?:pass:

Hey dude, definitely possible to get N tox with Biotabs, I have done it myself. But I don't think thats what this is, as the leaves aren't too dark and generally when you have N tox the tips of the leaves will be almost black and hooked over. Looks to me like the whole leaves are curling under?

Looks like overwatering maybe, but also looks a bit like cob stress to me. Like me on a thai beach in the middle of the day. Phew. Hopefully raising the light will help.

Can you post pics of the whole plant and the other one please? How big was it when you switched the res on?
