depends on your growing experience is as well as what your trying to accomplish in potency really. but Northern Lights is great especially if you amber it up its a good body heady medical effect.to a BlackStone(or stone dragon) half n half amber n clear..you can essentially achieve these results with most any hybrid if left to tune your meds but again it also depends on your needs so you could get some SD's AND some sati dom hybrid and make a really good blended oil in which I personally like myhself when i use oil for baking or eating er what have ya.
but for a new grower Id say any beginner strain such as NL,SD(or Black stone) and even a few mephistos gear had lended well and easy to grow id think for a beginer like Sour hound,or the TS too. any basic easy plant can be worked till you get your knowledge up on what and uses for what a little more worked on.
But id say ideally get yourself a photo of a high thc and a cpl of autos with a HIGh CBD rate and make a 33% blend of the three is what id persoanlly recommend for you to start with. or the equivalent of three autos two CBD strains and a high sati THC dom strain n blend all that.id bet thatll do you great :Sharing One:

Oil is better in my opinion because it is harder to burn, and is able to handle the fluctuations of temperature with out loosing it consistancy.
I like Eyes on Fires mixing of Hight THC and CBD strains. Good idea.
But anything you can make now, will be beneficial, even if it isn't the BEST you can find, that is if time is an issue.

I make a lot of oil as my lady and I use it three times a day in capsules, and some in cooking. Butter os ok for cooking, but I find using coconut oil to be the best, followed by olive oil. There are several good recipes on here for making oil.

I concur with the gents above. And, for me, coconut oil is the most versatile. After making a batch, I usually make some skin lotion/salves, capsules (I process the oil for these with lecithin, to help the body absorb it efficiently). I also use the coconut oil for brownies, and Magic Bars (YUM!). I have a Moto pot to make butter in small quantities, generally for cookies/muffins.
As for strains, I generally use indica/hybrids. My favorite strains for oil are White Widow, Purple Kush, CBD Skunk Haze, and I'm really looking forward to using Chemdog as soon as my plants are done (just started week 5/flower).
I made a large run of coconut oil with PK, and so far the lotion I make with it has healed-I shy away from the word "cured"- skin cancer on 3 family members! Just applying it, 3x daily, to the affected areas. Powerful medicine, that!

Waximus, I am new to this so i will take you up on being a help if you can ... I am trying to cure my wife's mum of stage 4 cancer , of which the primary has been taken out but as per yesterday's scan results has spread like wild fire since... Hence I was asking if I could grow it any quicker...

What you need for this is actually an extract of the cannabinoids, most commonly called Rick Simpson Oil, Its highly concentrated and has been used to treat cancer. I suggest you check youtube for a video on it, it will give you lots of information, and explain how to make it. Good luck in your quest for meds! I'm on the same path. Waxi likely knows a lot more than I do , but I'll offer what help and information I can. :karma Cloud:

Hey Hazy...I personally use oil (RSO or Rick Simpson Oil caps) to treat my own cancer and I have it made for me by a good friend in the industry. The strains that he has been using for me are a combo of lemon haze and digweed. Sorry if I miss spelled the later. I find the pain relief properties to be fantastic for me personally and I also know another patient of his who has actually seen a reduction in their cancer since starting the use of the oil. But I must admit that I'm not an expert just a lucky user.
