I'm using a mars 2 400w and a blackstar 135w side by side and I'm using an old fan from a vapor type humidifier. 30x18x32 tent. No heat problem what so ever.

Repurposed fan from vaporizer humidifier. Low budget at its finest

That is funny lol because my last grow I did two Russian Dragon Auto's with a LightHouse Hydro BlackStar 240w, and they came out pretty good. BlackStar is a really good quality light and so is Mars In my opinion. When comparing prices personally for me I would rather take a little less yield and save 3 or 4 hundred dollers on equip than pay 1700$ for one light lol.

I have a 4 x 2 x 5 tent and I use a 96X3 Reflector Series and 2 135W UFOs...

that way I can adjust the lights individually to fit the circumstances....
Full tent area coverage vs. as side-lighting on a particular plant.

It's very "modular"...

I do love that they put 5W's in that 144 though.

Sorry guys I know this is a hot topic, but it dig up good and different perspectives. I can see both sides, and will take them into account. I have looked into other brands such as Blackdog (too rich for my blood) and blackstar to name a few. Im sort of starting to think the reflector 96x3w Mars light then 20-30 days in my 50w Blackstar ufo as side lighting with hopes of raising 4 fine ladies under this setup.

I have looked into the Black Star units again, but Im still getting a slight feeling they are becoming a bit dated, but solid units none the less.

Also sorry for the slow replies, as the thread creator I am slacking...

Me I would spend an xtra 500 on a light if it would yeild 10-20% if u really think about it 10% on a 70g auto 7g may not seem like much but over 10 yrs those 7s will add up per plant. Were in the business to have a nice have a harvest (quality and quanity) even ifs its for bragging rights on afn.

7g/per plant 3-4 auto harvest a yr zip per plant per year for 10yrs think about the zips ull miss out on in the future over the light u choose today!!!

Personally I would look at something different af1 came down alot in price not knocking mars jus sayin its other lights out mars is good for the price but af1 new lights are pretty cheap $175 grownnothern even bml u can buy lights as u need them.

I would opt for the 300w (140) actually for$63 on eBay and put them everywhere.
