Grow Mediums Wide or deep?

Hi!

Currently got 5 Dutch passion seeds going in 12 litre (3 gallon?) pots with bio bizz light mix.
Auto xtreme, glueberry, orange bud, Brooklyn sunrise and euforia.

Now.. All of these I got in 3 packs so I got a couple of them each left.
But I also got a Think Different that I only got one of.

So when I'm growing that I got one shot (at least this year) to get as much as possible.
Wich led me to thinking about pot size.

If I want a big plant, should the pot be wider OR deeper?

Wich is most beneficial?

I'm hydro and seem to be better shallow and wide! But yes, for soil it looks like deeper works!

For coco

Deep and wide for an 80 day Sativa dominant. I like a 5 gallon.

Indica doms don't care much for squat pots. They produce better formations in taller pots. 3 gallons and up.

I just bought some pots they say are made for growing marijuana. Theyre made deeper they were called Jurassic pots they were on Amazon. I bought 4 4 gallon cloth Jurassic pots for like $12. Just started in them 2 weeks ago so can't comment on how well they work.

How are they doing now? They look interesting. Amazon only has 1 review for them . With 1 star, think the reviewer was disappointed with getting the white bag and they wanted/ordered black instead.

generally deeper is much better using soil..especially super soil imo.. uses less floor space at cost of vertical space tho so really depends on situation.
