Oh...and about the mix. Yes, mix in some perlite, about 15-20%. Mix up good. Pot it up. Water at Ph 7 and check runoff. I think it has lime, but actually I have heard that it needs additional, but we'll see. You have some time. The lime raises and stabalizes Ph and can be low sometimes. Very good job wanting to make sure your Ph is on in the new pot before even putting it in. Excellent. :clap: Now you're getting it.

I am super glad you are here all the time. Yea it is not dead and I don't think it's close to dying YET. :twist: Yes I have a fan it is blowing on the light and has the girls swaying just a lil bit.

My question is do you want me to mix some of the Perlite I have in with the ffof ? and if so what ratio ? I also have the Ph up/down so Now that can be spot on. And more questions. I want to transplant but I know It is probably to soon. Should I go ahead and put soil in final pots, mixed with perlite of you say so and then put water in until I get run off, that way I know I could have soil at good Ph before I add my lil girls ?

The main reason for wanting to transplant now is to try to get the Ph and watering back under control. Those first few days I think I put wrong amount of both water and Ph. so this would almost be like a fresh start.

Yes go ahead and mix the perlite and OF like I mentioned above. Get your Ph right before transplanting. In the cup and the bigger pot of new mix.

Dang Squid I totally missed the post where you answered about the perlite. SORRY I promise I wasn't medicated :no: cool beans I am on it. one last question about this. So I am going to wet the soil enough to get run off so How long after that will we wait to have the ladies move into their new home. Notice I said we move them. You are in this thing with me so as far as I am concerned I am just being your arms. This is your grow I am just here for the lesson.

Hahaha. Thanks dude. I try my best. Wait maybe 2-3 days. Maybe less if they're in the tent with the heat and airflow. So long as they aren't soaking wet. Hell it could just take several hours. But that's after you're ph in and out are spot on.

Are you planning on the tier transplant or traditional?

Math 4 dummies

Well according to this equation
If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5

I started with Ph water of 6.6 and my run off was 5.2 for a diff of 1.4 so
5.2(run off) - 1.4 (diff) = Soil pH 3.4 :jaw: sure seems strange to me, But it is just saying I need to start with a higher pH water correct ?

Thinking of maybe water to start at 7.5pH what do you think ?
I made up my 2 pots with exact same measurements and I only tested one so the other is still dry. after bubbling water tonight and until I come home tomorrow, I will check pH of bubbled water, as long as it is a little over 7.0 and test the other pot. will let you know results. I remember Muddy saying I want a run off as close to 6.0 as I can get it.

You're 3.8 not 3.4 but still...too low. You can go with 7 and water good. You want to gradually pull it up not spike it all at once that could cause more problems.

LMAO I did screw that up ok 3,8 I will try the water in at 7.0 - 7.2 whatever it settles on after I add 2 drops of ph up to a gallon of rainwater. Thanks Squid. Right now the girls are still in the cups with Jiffy starter. I won't tier transplant until I get the water and soil correct like we said. I am going to put this round of water in the second pot while the one I did last night dries out some.
PS: I did subtract correct on paper just typed it in wrong. Still LOL
PSS: I have not seen another thread where OF had any problems. Like you said a lot of peeps use it. maybe I screwed up. we'll see

Well in my brain things are swirling. I did this run in my second pot the dry one. I started with pH 7.0 in and pH5.1 run off so soil pH = 3.2 (if I did math right lol) now for my swirling brain questions.
1. Is this a normal thing with OF ?
2. To much Perlite and soil was so light the water ran off to quick to get accurate reading ?
3. What if I quit sweatin the petty stuff and just pet the sweatty stuff ? like you said be paitient and maybe kill a few to get the hang of it LOL
4. Just transplant the dam things, use 6.3 to 6.5 pH'ed water and see what happens.
5. I am going to be nervous damn wreck need a doobie, been since Thanksgiving.

** A joint - MUST - waiting on your plants to come to fruition is a test of patience and dedication, doing this manual labor for your plants is a drag too.. so why not light up a nice spliff and help ease the transitions man.

Well I still didn't kill them I did spray them right before lights out last night I think they look a tad better. going to try that again tonight also.

Hey bud. Yes as far as I knoe soils are known for their low ph. So sorry I didn't mention that before. My fault on that dude, I just don't use it so it slipped my mind. You'll need to get some dolomite lime from your shop. Good news is that it's cheap and is commonly carried so should be pretty easy to find. You'll have to mix the lime in with OF then water and wait about 4-5 days for the lime to work. You're good though.
Looks like your younglings need a light feeding. They've exhausted whats in the jiffy mix by now.
Feed with a super low dose of veg nutes next watering and that should green them back up and give em a boost.
