Outdoor Winter outdoor in Southern California

That too is very interesting, my friend. I happen to work at a solar installation company, lol. I do marketing and PR, not installations, tho.

I have my Afghan Kush outdoors right now, she is doing very well :)

The temperatures have dropped in this last week and she seems to love it!

You seem like the creative type who is good at design. I am planing to build a krusty bucket with a standard 5 gal homedepot bucket, an air pump and a short Rubbermaid tub. I could sure use any ideas you may have as to the best possible design to maximize efficiency.

We also do thermal installs where I work. They are basically large, black plastic cylinders that sit in the sun and warm your pool.

That Kush should naturally turn purple during those cool nights, it's some sort of way of protecting itself.

I'm not familiar with the Krusty design, but I must investigate, you've sparked my interest. I found this guy online that sells some very sweet bucket kits, cheap too; check it out and tell me what you think, I might get one too, just to learn & get the hang of it. He sells stuff on eBay too. Some things are so expensive, people are forced into DIY mode, but this fellow's prices are great. Web address is below. You gotta check out http://www.kelp4less.com/ too, awesome prices for organic hydro/soilless nutes.

Speaking of buckets and DIY that actually isn't a bad price for that bucket, still cheaper on your own and there is almost zero thinking involved in making one ... I made buckets out of coolers to hopefully keep res insulated and water temps down.... Wondering if these bags wrapped around DIY bucket would help keep temps down since it's reflecting the light away from the bucket? Strange they make them in 5 gal, seems like it's almost what they are made for...

Though I think ultimately for a single DWC a water cooler is your best bet... Just my :2cents:

What ever you decide to do would love to follow along as I'm about to try my hand at my first bucket ....

Hey guys!

Dayyumn, that is a pretty good deal. I was actually just thinking about buying and mixing my own nutes, thanks for the link, bro!

Here is my Afghan kush, she's looking good, despite the freak rains and temperature drop over the last 2 days. The weather here is weird like that. Super hot then out of nowhere, rainy and cold for a couple days then hot again. By cold I mean SoCal cold, mind you, like mid 50's at night, lol

@yodabuds

Yea, bro, I'll keep you posted on my setup. I'm going to start building it in about a week and will post notes and pics here.
