I know this is kinda unlikely at the moment but what would happen if some stoner geneticist decided to use the company equipment to introduce some new genes into cannabis that make it a super plant? If he could put survival genes from common weeds and other plants into the cannabis genome that would give it more adaptability to the enviroment it finds itself in giving it resistance to pests, mould, frost etc etc and make an "extremophile" cannabis strain that could be grown in even the worst conditions and still make a potent smoke would you be up for getting high from it or avoid it like the plague?
I see all these weeds and plants growing in the wild most of them looking perfectly healthy despite large numbers of insects living around them and thinking they must have genetic resistance to the insects and crappy conditions they find themselves in which could be usefull for cannabis.
I've been thinking of it the other way around too........what if you could add the genetic information responsable for producing THC,CBD etc into common weeds and plants that live naturaly so that you could do stealth grows that would NEVER be caught even if the police were looking right at it lol. I have read about peoples attempts at hybriding Hops thats used to make beer with cannabis but that it never ever works and i think they tried to do this for the same reasons im thinking about aswell as curiosity.
If there was a geneticly engineered weed out there somewhere would any of you be willing to smoke the stuff or would you treat it like the spawn of satan?

They have found bee's with the genes from geneticly modified plants in their genome,scary stuff. Do you think the technology and knowledge gained over the next few decades could be able to make this sort of thing risk free?
