New Grower WTF. trashing 12 plants

I just harvested a half a pound. not great considering it was derived from 5 photo skunks and 9 auto short riders. Riders were very light and airy buds, and I kept the skunks short. Oh and one photo Kush too. Trimmed to perfection and dried I got over 8 ounces. Seeds were all from Nirvana. So I got like 5 auto candy, 5 auto pounders and 3 diva's from Herbies. All germed...great!! A week later was infested with spider mites. I bombed the area twice and used azamax foliar and systemically. Light dosed for seedlings obviously. I seem to have rid the problem I think. But of all 13 plants germed, only one candy is doing well. I planted in two interval 2 weeks apart. I know how to grow so I am dumbfounded here. Was it the azamax? Was it possibly the last wave of mites ? What the F#ck stunted the growth al all but 1 plant? Germed in OF soil as always. Started in solo cup. Cut the bottom out and stuck in straight potting soil. 600 watt 24/7, 74 to 84 degrees. General hydroponics trio nutes after 2 weeks at 1/4 rate. Liquid roots all organic with watering. WTF? Is it me or did I get a bad batch of seeds? Seems unlikely considering I have 3 diff strains. Maybe too much azamax and stress from mites. I am just thinking out loud. Typically growing for me is very simple. If I get em to germ, its off to the races. I may scrap all but one, disinfect, bomb again, and start over. Shit happens.

Sounds like the seedlings didn't like the bug spray.Give them some more time ans see if they get any better.If not start over.

Were did the mites come from ?? was it the potting soil ??? I use hydro myself but was thinking of doing a dirt grow and am just curios about how you get the little critters.

Hello,

You use Fox Farms Ocean Forest for seedlings? and have alsways been doing it?

I have heard that the OF is too "Hot" for seedlings. Even the Happy Frog has some nutrients in it , buit not as much as OF. I always start in a seedling mix, no nutrients at all and real fluffy stuff, so the seed can easily push the top up.

But if you say you always use it, how can I argue with that.

I have heard subcool talk about how he uses azamax on his clones, so that might tell you how young your plants can be when you use that stuff.

Thanks guys. As for the bombs I set off, I checked with dude at hydro shope and he sais will not effect plants. Azamax was also recommended by several ppl at low dose for seedlings. I also used a foliar with sulfur that I was told would not harm as long as I rotated between azamax and the Bayer spider mite control. As for where did mites come from. Don't know. As for using to germ. Yes it can be hot on certain strains but look at some of my photos . Some got deleted for some reason. But cutting the would be a safer rout. History has show me that it works though. As I said, one plant looks fabulous. Maybe these strains are more sensitive and the taxed them from the get go. I suppose my question is pointless because there are just too many variables. I was just pissed and needed to blow off some steam. Growing is a learning process and sometimes the challenge makes it fun. I keep a log book and this will just be another chapter. Thanks for the feedback bro's.

the mites came with the ocean forest,i love the shit out of fox farm,always popped my seeds right in there and was never to hot but last 2 bags had red mites and some sort of leaf sucking bug with purple body and orange head so I had to switch.as for the stunting I don't know bro but best of luck

I appreciate the heads up on the bugs in . I have used quite few bags and never encountered any probs. I get it from a hydro store that keeps the stuff stored inside. I guess it certainly is still possible....makes sense. I have one candy that is really doing well so its weird that only one pulled through. Thanks for the replies and advise. I will just order another ten seeds and try it again. Peace
