Lighting Xbox one CPU heatsink covert to citizen clu048 1212.

They are great, I've found some for $5-10 shipped! Just having the fan cord is a tad annoying.

Its one of two out of a mars 48 ref.
86v
0.65a
92v
These are the numbers given for input output. I would like to know how many watts its actually drawing. I'll post up a pic of the label on the driver tonight.

Haha thanks Big. The upgrade took a while but im finally there. You've been a big inspiration for me to actually get active in spreading the knowledge. Much respect!

They were a very good deal for the light they provide, main reason I'm running them. But your right, I need to change the config from three to six to ensure efficiency!

To figure watts take the voltage of your cob which is 36 and multiply it by the amps of your driver.
23.4 watts

I had a feeling it wasnt as I high as I thought, its running too cool for 80.. Lots of light for 23.4w though!

I have one running on a 100w chinese driver and it has not missed a step. The driver gets warmer than the heatsink. And it throws a wide blast of light.

Do you have a volt meter? If so can you get a voltage reading with the cob running. Take a reading from the leads of the cob.

My understanding mars driver is 55v to 100v at 550 to 600ma cc. How did you run a single 36v cob at that voltage with out blowing up the cob due to over voltage.

I can see 2. 36v cobs in series will work with no issues 36v x 2 for 72v. One cob 36v should not work due to over voltage.

Thanks

Interesting, though the same when i opened my lamp

I got a driver
100-240v
55-75v
600ma

And was told i could not run 2 Citi 1212 og it and i should go for 50v 18xx cobs instead

Two 36v cobs of that driver will work fine. Well within the specs of the driver.
The 18xx 50v cob is close to spec of the power supply. Just a little under the rated 55v to 75v. I suspect the driver will drop down to 50 volts with no issues. Just not within spec.

I noticed that today, the driver being warmer than the heatsink. Now I've doubled the chips on my 200w unit the solo can go else where.

I'm smoked out atm brother, I can't make heads or tales of the details right now. All I know if that its working, nice and cool as well.
