If you start out organic, why would you feed chem ferts at the end? I am using organic plant magic (instant compost tea) every other watering, then calmag on the other watering. Still tough to keep em green. I like the top dressing idea too. But my point is, if you start organic, may as well finish that way. You won't regret it in the end product.

I have no problem with running a hybrid of organic and synthetic. I totally respect your point as well though. I prefer to stay organic and most likely will, but I like to keep an open mind and weigh all my options.

Anyone know what the components of the supersoil are? I’m guessing it’s proprietary... I’d love to make my own soil but I don’t have the space to do it.

I agree with the concept of starting an organic grow, so finish it as an organic grow. My only problem right now is that I don't own an organic amendment/fertilizer, and I am seeing a decline in the overall plant color from dark rich green to a mottled greenish yellow that I attribute to lack of late season NPK. I was trying to solve this problem with as little additional investment as possible, and that is really where I have made a mistake. Going to stop by the local hydro today to see what type of organic amendment might be available.

I slept on it... ok I over-medicated last night and didn’t have the capacity to respond properly....

Anywho.... It seems to be a common problem, running out of steam mid flower. I’m wondering if increasing the volume of amended SS or the strength of the amended SS (or both) is the way to go. I plan on using 3 gallon pots and considered using 5 gal instead, but I’m afraid the plant will just get bigger and still consume the soil just as quickly.

Thoughts?

@gbd, I’d love your input on this, since I believe you are the formulator.

She just shy of 30" tall, and almost 40" wide, and flowering didn't start until the end of week 6 (day 42). Using recharge and mammothP once a week in addition to SS. Just giving you these numbers so you have additional data points. Two auto's sitting under 3 autocobs around 26-32" above the canopy. Heading to the local hydro store now.

So I went with an organic solution, Roots Organic Uprising Foundation which is 2-1-1 and Roots Organic Uprising Bloom which is 3-6-4. They are meant to be used together or can be used alone. For this application, I used them at 1/2 strength together. Scratched it into the top couple inches of soil and watered it in with purified water ph'ed to 5.9. Hopefully see some improvement in the next 7-10 days.

I agree with both statements, doing hybrid organic/synthetic runs have gottem me some great results before but roasty youre rightabout the final smoke i did the ss with a gold.glue and didn't add shit to it just let her go and the smoke is so.clean and smooth absolutely great high and smell/flavour

I want to start my way to just organics soon just gotta learn more.first i keep reading and reading through @calliandra journal of living soil, stuff is fascinating!!

@YadYam , @Roasty McToasty , @Seymourbud , what kind of water are you guys using?

Reason I ask, I’m using municipal water. It has chloramine in it which kills bacteria. I inoculate routinely and heavily so I know it won’t kill all my beneficials but I’m sure it puts a dent in them. I’m installing an RO filter soon to help remedy that.

I’m looking at roots organic base nutes now for a backup. Please let us know how that works out Seymour. Do you have a journal?
