Mephisto Genetics YadYams Mephisto Garden

@YadYam , @Roasty McToasty , @Seymourbud , what kind of water are you guys using?

Reason I ask, I’m using municipal water. It has chloramine in it which kills bacteria. I inoculate routinely and heavily so I know it won’t kill all my beneficials but I’m sure it puts a dent in them. I’m installing an RO filter soon to help remedy that.

I’m looking at roots organic base nutes now for a backup. Please let us know how that works out Seymour. Do you have a journal?
I'm using RO water indoor, tap water here sucks. 275 ppm and ph 8.5-9.0 .

330 ppm and 8.3 pH. I feel ya bro...

As always, thanks Roasty!

I’m really considering increasing the SS concentration in the amended layer to 1.5. Worried about frying them though. I can’t find it but someone said they were using a 1.5x ratio...

I go to Walmart and buy Walmart Great Value Purified Drinking Water - No Minerals added - for $.60/gallon. They use multiple processes to filter including RO, Ultraviolet Light, Micron Filtration, and Ozonation. I can't remember exactly what the PH was out of the jug, my recollection was 6.1 to 6.4. My guy at the local hydroponics store suggested using the Walmart Great Value Purified Drinking Water - Minerals added - $0.60/gallon instead of the no mineral water. He stated that might be adding to the Cal/Mag problems I have been experiencing. Just got back from local Walmart and could not find their brand of GVPDW - MA, so I bought Nestle's Brand Purified Water with added minerals - $1/gallon. I will use that until the end of this grow. As for the organic ferts, Yes I just started the Roots Uprising Foundation and Uprising Bloom to help get my Double Grapes to the finish line. Still to early to tell just how effective the Organic Roots Uprising fertilizers have been, but it "seems" as though the yellowing has not gotten worse in the last 4-5 days.

My journal for the Double Grape is at https://www.autoflower.org/threads/...o-double-grape-in-soil-with-gbd-ss-mix.64084/

That’s far too much lugging for my lazy ass.:baked:

Paid $200 for a RO setup on amazon, it was the amazon preferred or whatever. The old lady’s pissed about losing under the cabinet space. She’ll get over it. I will have to lug the water downstairs but that’s better than from wal mart. :pass:

Yep, I can definitely see your point if you have a large garden. I have a small garden, so it's not to big of a deal. Plus on my photoperiod plants that I grow non-organic, I can use my house water and ph down to get the right ph. For my autoflower, I wanted to try a pure organic grow. I hear that once you taste organic, you never go back (or something like that...). That's my story, and I am sticking to it! LOL!

@Roasty McToasty what cal mag are you using? Is it necessary since you’re using RO water? I just installed that filter I mentioned. Would adding lime and Epsom salts help with the cal mag issue?

Are you organic or salts? If organic, then yes the ES and lime will help. I use GO calmag for organics, and AN or Megacrop calmag for coco fed with salts.

Thanks! I do plan on staying organic, are you using manufacturers dosing recommendations?

With Megacrop I use 2g per gallon, with AN I use 1-2 ml/L for coco, and GO I use 5-8 ml/G depending on the plants needs. I think GO recommends 5 ml/G, but it's not enough sometimes. Calmag is the only nute that I actually use more than recommended, especially in coco. My soil plants needs for CalMag are deffo less, but still needed with COB's blasting.

Been wayy to long so Lets do an update!
So I'm definitely digging the megacrop so far and so are the plants!!
Also Getting the room dialed in and lights re adjusted i think finally helped my browning/yellowing issues that would happen so fast before. It looks like it tried to start with gwk and dg but then stopped with some adjustments.

Lets get to em!
