Ye Ole' Curled Leaves

too much water huh?

The wavy leafs early on can be an early sign of nitrogen toxic. I have a plant now that has this and the last 2 I grew did as well. I backed off the steer manure this grow so it is not as bad. When the plants are only on there first couple leafs like the first or second set the tips usually don't get the claw like they do later in a grow. If your running something like the happy frog ocean forest soil un cut or feeding to early like starting at week 1 in normal organic soil like happy frog or the roots this can also happen.

Oops I should be a little more clear I am referring to the picture in post #25.

The pot size is not killing your plants. I start my plants in #2 nursery pots now just because the size is important to how I grow and sustains them for the correct amount if time before I transplant. I could start in a 5 or 10 gallon pot though if wanted. Now not having good drainage or watering too often could kill them though. Over watering could cause the issue but I am not 100% if it did. I tried the FFOF and it was too hot for anything I tried to grow in it. I only used it once though and could have just got a bad batch. I would recommend the happy frog soil next time. Its good stuff. I used it for several years and never had a problem with burning or PH. Need to feed around week 2 lightly with the happy frog pretty much no mater the size of pot used.

You hit it on the head. I did use FFOF on my first batch of seedlings. "After" realizing that there is a conflict with Autos in regards to nutrients with OF, I am now using coco/perlite and experimenting with OF cut with coco. Fortunately Fast Buds Six Shooter is an uber resilient plant to handle of this, in addition to my wife knocking off her taproot and me dropping a pint of soil on her.

Live and learn. IMHO FFOF is not for autoflower plants. At best HF cut with your choice of excellent options (coco ext...).

Ya but the happy frog strait is some pretty awesome stuff and works good. I am modifying roots organic soil now with my best results yet though and like it better after I modify it compared to the Fox farms stuff because it dose not compact over time like my happy frog did. I had to add pearlite to my happy frog to try to fix the compacting otherwise it would not drain well once the roots filled out the pot.

My wife wants me to go straight organic. Do you use FF nutes for organic?

No I mix my soil and layer it. I have a veg layer and a bloom layer and just add water. I veg for 3 to 4 weeks, transplant in to larger pot filled 50/50 with veg soil on top and bloom on bottom. Its something I am working on but having great results with so far.

My current grow with nothing but water the whole grow and full organic. This was about 1 week ago. My soil is still a work in progress and my new plant is in soil will less nitrogen as this one had a little too much.
