yellow leaf tips- but no nutes used yet ??

Looks like to me its a little nitrogen rich for your plants. Next time I would take a seed starter mix to cut with it 50/50 and see if you have the same problem. Also your water PH of 6 will cause problems later. I like my water to be PH of 7 some like 6.5 but I find 7 to be safe. My water is bottled anyways so there is not much in it to influence the PH. It might go in at 7 but there is no calcium or anything in it to keep it there. I would PH your water higher if you can 6.5 minimum. I like 7 because your soil as it breaks down if there is not enough calcium will slowly lower over time and the water can keep it up a little. Autos are lighter feeders than a regular photo. You could put the top 1/4 of your pot a seed starter mix and the rest your regular soil and see how that works out for ya. This could also be an isolated problem. The first time I tried roots organic soil I must have got a bad bag and my plants started to die and I did not use it for a few years again thinking it was bad soil but now it is all I use and I love it so you could just have got a bag that was a little off. Your plant is so young it is a little hard to say cuz the PH being off could also be a problem. Your not using water fresh out the sink are you? If it is city water fresh from the tap it could the problem. Either way a PH of 6 on organic soil is too low. If you suspect the nutrients are a little high in your soil than I would do a flush. In that size of a pot I would water tell you have about 1 to 2 cups of run off using clean bottled water. You will have to have nutrients on hand if you flush. The first thing you will notice left the soil is nitrogen followed by magnesium so having your veg and cal/mag so you need to have some form of veg nutrients and cal/mag on hand to feed lightly with in a few days.

ah ok, i could check the old soil i have, i sealed up a large container of it to deprive the gnats of any air. also i am using distilled water, that tested around 6. currently using ghetto strip tests cause of my budget. was under the impression that it was supposed to be between 6-6.5 so thats what i roughly aimed for.

I aim for 6.5 to 7. once you get around 6 you start getting low. I believe 5.5 to 6 is ok for coco but 6 is low for organic soil.

so question then, should i flush? i can do that tomorrow. i also have DNF gro nutes on hand so i can feed them when need be. So just flush them and give them some plain water time to recover and see how they do? cause dont the true leaves already have what the plant needs in the first few weeks?

Ya I would do a light flush cuz that ever problem you have it is not going to get better. Just make sure to PH your nutrients and be very light your first feeding. Don't try to change the PH of the soil just flush with water that has a PH of 6.5 or 7 and you should be good.

for when to first feed. i always read to not feed till they have at least 3 sets of leaves ? or is there a better time to give a light feeding

No that's about right. About week 2 is about were I first fed or between week 2 and 3 with the happy frog. I don't feed any more the way I grow. Depends on the plant and pot size but the first feeding is usually about 1 teaspoon per gallon the first feeding to see how the plant responds to the nutrients and I water just tell I see a little bit of run off. I use to use Roots organic AKA "aurora" Buddha grow and Buddha bloom. Other nutrients might be different. I don't know with yours. I don't remember what the recommended dose of Buddha grow was but I started at 1 teaspoon first feeding and paid attention to leaf color judging how much nitrogen the plant needed by the shade of green the leafs were. Lite lime color, feed nitrogen/dark almost pine green just give water. Week 2 was also around the time I first fed cal/mag but during a different day so my water PPM was not too high. I also fed 1 teaspoon per gallon of water first time. The cal/mag was usually every 2 weeks. About day 30 I started with my bloom nutrients and continued tell about day 60 at which point the plant got plain water tell harvest unless it looked like it was going to finish late at which point I might go tell day 65. Going full organic has made things way simpler for me though. I mix some soil, I plant, transplant and just water. Take notes on how plant dose so I can make adjustments to next batch of soil. No feeding no messing with PH its easy and it is fully organic. Smells better and is smoother than bottled organic too for some reason.

bad watering practice imo its been overwatered at some point, possibly parched @ some point,u really need to keep the medium moist....not sodden, not dry,but moist ...atb :hookah:

These were in peat pellets that were watered once. then transplanted into soil. of which was a bit overwatered for sure, but not when the plant it self was in the soil. but other wise they have not received an actually watering. Just the soak the peat pellets had and the watering of the soil i transplanted into. also they have never dried out

in a perfect environment you should be watering that ^^^^ daily by now imho,i dont know your environment ....but it should also be in a big ol pot bach..atb:hookah:

they are currently still in the propagator and not using much water yet, the pots are slowly starting to dry out, so they will be watered soon enough. Most likely a mini flush to try and remove what appeared to be an excess of N in the soil

Is cal/mag a completely separate thing from standard nutes? I never used it in my previous grows years ago and product was fine, but i have been seeing more and more about cal/mag this cal/mag that. the DNF Gro nutes i have is a part A part B mix, the part A has 2% cal and the part B has .5% mag. will i need to purchase something seperate ?
