A sincere gidday from down under. Thought I'd give weeds growing a try, looks like a fun hobby. Figured I'd start with a dwarf for ease of growing.

Genetics: Royal Queen Royal Dwarf - 5x Autofem
Bonus: G13 Labs White Lavender - 1x Feminized photoperiod

Light: 400w HPS, homemade CFL array

Nutrient: General Organics

Medium: Air pot, Coco Fiber

Stay tuned. I'll keep this thread up to date as time grows on. Here we grow!

Day 0 - 12/1/12

Got my first Marijuana seeds in the mail today. Good feeling. Started the process of germination by soaking the seeds in tap water for about 12 hours. After this I transferred the seeds to a tupperware and wrapped them in wet paper towel. I've placed the tupperware in a cabinet and now we play the waiting game. While the seeds are incubating, I'll be busy finishing the grow area

Day 1 - 12/2/12
We have life! Two of the six seeds have cracked. Tomorrow I will be planting the seeds when the sproutlets are a little bit longer. I added some equipmentto the grow room today. Need to do some hardcore rehab to the room to get it ready.

1/3 germination rate on day 1. Not bad.

Schedule:
Monday: Fix wiring, mount lights (done), clean clean clean
Tuesday: Clean, put up tent
Wednesday: Fine tune environmentals
Thursday: Smoke a bowl
Friday: Build nutrient reservoir
Saturday: Drip lines

Update @ 11:00 PM: 5/6 have cracked. That's 83% within 48 hours of picking up the package. Thanks Jorge Cervantes!

Sweet man! I am finishing my second grow as we speak its a great hobby! It keeps my stress levels lower just watching and taking care of my plants.

Growing is seriously addicting read as much as you can and get info from this site. I know for a noob is confusing but stick with it and you will be very pleased!

Day 2 - 12/3/12
All 6 seeds had nice tails so I planted them inside net pots filled with coco fiber. I'll feed it as soon as the cotyledon pop up. Seeds are planted inside a cake dome under the HPS. Trying to keep it as close to the 78 degrees as possible.

Hi guys. I think I might have an issue. To recap:

I got the seeds to sprout the radicle by soaking them in water for about 12 hours, then put them in paper towels to develop a decent rootlet. Once I had a good sized tail poking out I planted them about 1/4 - 1/2 inch deep carefully into the net pots and since then I've been doing my best to keep them warm and moist, but not soggy.

It's been 72 hours since I planted the seeds and I don't see any signs of these things penetrating the surface. Should I be worried yet?

I always put my sprouted seeds in the soil so that the seed case is just barely underneath moist soil and then place a baggie over the container to keep the humidity up. They normally surface within 24 hrs. I always wait until I have a root abou 3/4" long also before I place them in their starter pots. If you have the seed case 1/2" under the soil you may have them in too deep. I would be concerned after 72 hrs. You may try removing some of the soil from the top to help them out a little. Good luck

Welcome to AFN herbaciousgrowth. Yes i agree with loud pipes, if the top of the seed is 1/4 to 1/2 i would get a toothpick or something small & pointed and gently move the soil away until you see the seed top. They should sprout on up then.:peace:
