Sweet Seeds Yozhik grows Crystal Candy Auto & Blow Mind Auto

I'm really, really, REALLY liking the colour of the leaves under the CFL.

Nice pictures man! I'm new to the forums and growing, but the seeds i started with are Crystal Candy Auto as well! I'm watching your thread for sure! Mine are day 14 as well, but are not looking like yours! There is a lot of misinformation everywhere, and I haven't fed any nutes yet... What strength of nutes is 2.0ml/l in relation to the products suggested feeding? Trying to gauge what my first feed should be at, I was thinking 1/4 strength feed. Thanks for advice! Also I'm only under a 4 lamp t5. Beginning to realize I need more lighting, but only have a 150w hps that I could add right now. Any advice would be really helpful and I can also post pictures if you'd like to see a comparison! Should I add the light? And my nutrients are Botanicare Pure Blend Grow and Pure Blend Bloom. Thanks!

On the bottle is suggests 4 ml/l.
That's for hydro.
I'm using soil.

What isn't well known is that the dosage is rated for 1000W HPS lighting, or their equivalent.
So for 600W HPS [60% lighting], it's probably wise to opt for 60% dosage.
For 400W HPS [40% lighting], you might opt for 40% dosage.

I always go 1/4 or 1/2 strength, and then listen to the plant.
They will tell you and show you if they want more, or less.

The reason I opted for 1/2 strength is because I'm using tap water with pH of 7.4, so wanted the higher dosage so the amount of buffers that exist in the Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect would be sufficient to actually get the pH down to 6.5 [for soil].

Trying to gauge what my first feed should be at, I was thinking 1/4 strength feed. Thanks for advice!

Could depend on what soil you're using.
I'm using a "Light" soil, which in simple terms means it INTENTIONALLY doesn't have all the goodies in the soil mix that the plants need, because you know you will be using nutrients.
If you're using a nutrient rich soil, you mayb not need nutrients at all [organic grow], or use nutes as top-ups to supplement what the soil is providing.

So what dosage depends on a number of factors;
- lighting
- soil
- strain

It's a pretty much a case of educated guessing blended with trial and error.
Listen to the plant.
They know best.

Also I'm only under a 4 lamp t5. Beginning to realize I need more lighting, but only have a 150w hps that I could add right now.
How many plants?
What size space?
A lot of growers use T5's and have immense and consistent success.

Don't overthink it.
Seriously.

Do your research, know not only what to do, but WHY to do it.
Find a growing style THAT SUITS YOU and your lifestyle.

A lot of grows go tits up because of overthinking and over tweaking.
Biggest piece of advice I could give you for your first few grows is ... Learn to walk away and let them do their thing.

It's the hardest thing to do, I know.
The temptation to visit them 4 or 5 times a day, or just add a little more water, etc, etc ... It's really hard to NOT do.
Don't micro-manage.

Give them the right environment
[lighting, temps, humidity, air circulation, ventilation] give them the right feedings [don't over/under water, balanced nutrients], at the correct pH [ALWAYS keep pH in the zone or you will run into all sorts of deficiency/toxicity issues], and let them do their thing.

"Build it ... They will come"

Any advice would be really helpful and I can also post pictures if you'd like to see a comparison! Should I add the light? And my nutrients are Botanicare Pure Blend Grow and Pure Blend Bloom. Thanks!

I can't offer anything re: those nutrients.
I have never personally used them, and know nothing to pass on to you.
Sorry.

Thank you for such a detailed response and I will provide you with some more information!

PLANT COUNT/STRAIN: Sweet Seeds Crystal Candy Auto x 7

So I also just realized that I was also slightly incorrect on the age of my plants. Previously I had been calculating the age from the date of germination, not when they first broke soil. The correct AGE for the first six is 12 days old, as they broke soil on 05/27/2017. The seventh seed didn't germinate as well as the other six, and I just threw it in the soil, thinking it may have been a bad seed. I was wrong! And she broke soil on 06/03/2017, which makes her 5 days old. I have a bunch of pictures that I can post also if you'd like to compare! Some of them breaking soil, and others on today, Day 12.

Thanks for advice, I understand a lot of the reasons why for certain things such as pH, and the nutrient requirements, just have been reading a lot on people giving too much nutrients and burning their leaves. I guess I am being somewhat paranoid, but I am glad to know they are autoflowers are not quite as sensitive as some suggest.

EDIT: I forgot about the space size. If I had to guess I would say its 10'x8', I just have the plants and light in the middle, without a grow tent or any reflective material. The room has no windows but is connected to the rest of basement, and there is a hatchway so ventilation is moderate with a dual window fan sitting on ground, blowing diagonally across the top of plant canopy. I feel like the room being somewhat isolated helps with being able to control the humidity as well.

First Impressions: [opinion only - take with a grain or two of salt ..]

- 7 plants, under 96W? Seems a little on the 'anorexic' side of thin.
T5 is good, but there ain't a light in the world that is THAT good, or EVERYONE would be using it!!

- Canna Terra Pro+, from what I have read, is pretty much a plug'n'play soil, so I would tend towards a light nute regime - if it was me.
It's one I am seriously considering for the current grow when I get around to transplanting, given my desire for a light nute regime.
Start of 1/4 - see how they respond. You can always dial it up incrementally until the Roberto Duran in them screams "no mas".

- no pH measuring is the CARDINAL SIN of growing. Bar none.
You want to fuck up a plant like it's never been fucked up before? Screw with its pH.
You can neglect it, heat stress it, dehydrate it, under nourish it, hell - even drop things on it and snap branches - it usually bounces back ... but fuck with its pH?
Try it. See what happens.

As I said in my first post, I was starting to realize my lights are not going to be enough. The guy in the hydro store convinced me that this fixture would be enough for six plants in veg, because six was all I had originally planned on. Like I said, all I have is an additional Sun System 150W HPS, not sure what to do with it. And then recently I was thinking about a buying a 400W HPS and somehow using both the T5 and HPS. I appreciate the feedback, it is all constructive criticism. It is my first grow ever, at least I'm not using single bulb CFL's from WalMart!

I'm glad the soil is up to par and I will probably do as you stated and start with 1/4 nute regime and dial it up from there if need be. Who's Roberto Duran? And also I do realize not measuring pH is a terrible thing to do, which is why I also haven't given any nutrients because I don't know what the pH will be before feed. Where's the best place to pick up a cheap but accurate pH meter?

Hey, it's all a learning curve my friend.
:pighug:

If I was you [which I'm not - but if I was], I'd throw the Sun System in there too.
That 150W extra can't do any harm, and is likely to do noticeable good.

Sounds like a plan!

Who's Roberto Duran?
A boxer, who fought Sugar Ray Leonard, and [allegedly] said, "no mas, no mas" to throw in the towel, late in the fight.

And also I do realize not measuring pH is a terrible thing to do, which is why I also haven't given any nutrients because I don't know what the pH will be before feed. Where's the best place to pick up a cheap but accurate pH meter?

eBay?
Amazon?
Local grow shop?
Search here for brands that keep coming up time and time again.
Work out your budget. Find the one that gives you the most bang for your buck.

If you learn nothing else from my rantings, let it be this ... pH is probably the most crucial of the foundation stones of growing.
Get it right, you will be rewarded.
Get it wrong, your plants will punish you harshly and without mercy.
