I ordered a pack of Grease Monkey, because I bought it at the dispensary once, when I first moved to MI (before my room was up and going full time) and Ijust loved the flavor, bud density, and, well - EVERYTHING about it. I've been wanting to order it ever since, its just that every time i went to make a photo order, they were out of stock, or I just couldnt find them at all. Lucky me I managed to finally get some, and started a large group of them all at once. As freebies, I also got a small pack of Mr. Nasty (Grease Monkey x GMO)
There is an Abominable Citrus Monster x Cross of the Titans in there with them, in the photos. At first its hard to tell them apart, but after a couple of weeks, I will separate them some more, and the singleton will be out of there.
Enjoy, Y'all! These are some BEAUTIES!
at less than 30 days, the stem was as thick as my forefinger, and leaves larger than my hand. monsters, they are. Nice ones.

PHOTOPERIOD general feeding guidelines

For vegetation, I treat them the same as I do the autos.. Start out with base grow nutes ( I use Sensi) @ 1/8-1/4 strength, and slowly increase over the first couple of weeks, until you are feeding at full strength. Interspace base nute feeds with cal mag/trinity (and occasionally a boost of Recharge) until they are about 30-40 days old.. or whenever I decide to flower them. About a week before they start their flip, I will give them Prime (from Heavy 16) to ready them for the flip. Once I shorten their cycle, I cease the Prime, and I start them on their
8 week flowering feed. This is where the magic come in at. How and what you feed during flower makes all the difference in the world when it comes to what you harvest. Vegetative accidents can be fixed, by keeping the plant at a long light cycle, treating the ailment, and only flowering her when she is healed. If you screw up, or dont feed enough in flower you are done for. I seldom have problems with my plants, using the method below for flowers.

This should help you, should you decide to try my program. I grow my plants in Potter Gold soil, unammended, in pots that range from 2-7 gallons. They are indoor, under LED, COB and Quantum lights.

babies

Theres not much to it at this stage. They're only a week old at this point. Eating already though. I start at 1/8-1/4 strength when they're a week old.
One of them is so funky. its at the bottom of the photo. She doesn't make it past this week. Just wouldn't grow, it STAYED looking like that. SO weird.
I can't tell them apart at this point. There are 4 grease monkey, and 3 Mr. Nasty.

So there is a gap in this journal of a couple of weeks. ALL my journals will have this gap. The insanity going on outside our door right now, all around the world, has put a crimp in EVERYTHING. These are the only photos I managed to take for a short time. But fortunately, it is not a large gap, and there has not been much going on, other than they are GORGEOUS, and the stems are so thick it seems like a fake plant. seriously getting themselves ready to pack on a ton of weight. Leaves are the size of my FACE! and they're only about 30 days old right now. I'll get newer pics up this weekend. For now, though, HERE THEY ARE.
I will show the Grease monkeys first, as a group. Its difficult to single them out completely in the closet, and I dont like moving them a lot.

0330_2514.JPG

So i am posting this, its a long update, but things are so crazy right now. I have been having serious issues with uploading anything, so journals are going slow. I took these photos last night, before I defoliated. They have all been topped, about 2 wks ago now, and are healthy, and EXTREMELY bushy. I am worried they are going to stretch like MAD come the next week or so. I hear this strain can stretch sometimes. They are so beautiful, though! There are not as many as at first. These are the Grease Monkeys that I kept. Some did not grow well, and one was REALLY funky, didnt make it to week 3.
The two Mr. Nastys Are going to be in a separate page, because I had to wait to take photos of them. One im pretty sure is a male, one im sure is a female. I took cuts, and am waiting for the cuts to sex before I either put them both into the flower tent with their cousins, or put one in isolation. I need pollen. ESPECIALLY that pollen.

APR 7th measurement photos

SO - here is where they are at height, on Apr 7th. Sorry these have taken so long to upload, but i feel like a dump truck has parked on my head. I think most of the world is sick right now. The two in from are Mr. Nasty. The two in back are Grease Monkey. If you cant tell, here's a breakdown by pot color:
Blue - Mr.Nasty #1, black on L - Mr. Nasty #2.
White sq. Grease Monkey #2, black on rt - grease monkey #1
NOW - the blue pot I picked as my favorite at first. Shes got some great structure on her. Time will tell though. I hear these have a habit of hermying at the start of flower, which is where these are. YES, I started the flip this past week, changing them to 12-12. Even the male (who is a Mr. Nasty).
Here are the photos, first photo is the grease monkey measurement. Second is the Mr. nasty measurement, in metric.

RIP MR NASTY (edited with update - info from breeder)

So today I went to check my girls at lights on, like I always do. And lo and behold! NUTS - ALL OVER THE PLACE. only on the Mr. Nastys. The one in the black pot had a nut for every flower, so I culled her. She didnt look like she was going to do much, anyways. Mostly stem. Probably putting all that energy into balls. The OTHER one, the one in the blue pot, I could only find a couple of flowers on her that were hermie. but they were fully hermie, had nuts sticking out of the flowers, not just male flowers. Depressing, especially since the HSO battle got cancelled. I was going to order them instead of this, but I didnt because I got a spot in the battle. GRUMBLE.
So I decided to keep the one in the blue pot, since she was my favorite out of them all. Did i make a mistake? What do you think? Let me know in the comments whether or not I should cull her. I'm worried about the full hermie flowers, what if I dont catch any more of them?
The grease monkeys were clean as a whistle. The male is the male, hes goin great, good for him. I'm so upset right now, I dont even want to look at him.

UPDATE---->
SO- as far as whats going on. They were all funky. Even the male started to show small sign of female flowers. I am just flabbergasted. I killed all of them. Even the male.

I gave feedback, in private (I didnt post it on the site. Thats just rude without contact first, IMO) cuz I would want to know if my stuff threw out something like that, and they offered to replace the pack, even though I did not ask them for it. Pretty AMAZING customer service methinks! So I had to come back here and stuff this edit in here, because I think they more than made up for the fact that I got some hermies. (we ALL know that with feminized you run the risk ANYWAYS, and cookies is known to be picky sometimes, and GG4 was a hermie and an accident )
ANYWAYS. It was the male throwin female that weirded me out. and there were plants under different light setups, so it wasn't any ONE thing - like it wasnt every plant in one tent, for example. I had two in a tent with two grease monkeys ( both of which are AOK - update coming soon), one in isolation, and one in the closet. One got culled before flower. three different setups, all three having successfully grown hermie-free marijuana for a long time now.

About author
Lilly_of_the_Zoo
I am a grower of decent experience, but not decades. I consider myself to have a good idea of what I am doing, but not quite at a professional level yet. Until very recently I have had to devote too much time to my studies to do that, but I am hoping to take things to the next level here in the near future, and appreciate any help. I grow mostly autos, mostly Mephisto, with a few random strains thrown in here and there to make things interesting. I have two solid photo phenos I have as clones, but my auto strains are constantly changing. I would love to grow, possibly breed, some good CBD strains, but haven't found what I am looking for yet. Feel free to leave comments, questions, on any of my postings. I'm pretty good at replying, because I work online in graphic design.
