Germinated 5 northern lights auto fem seeds 1 week ago and they have been under the mars II 700 for 5 days. The first 2 they were under a cfl and grew vertically but havent grown taller under the led, but I think 3 have acclimated nicely and look to be developing 2nd leaves. I know its early but just wondering if anyone has any input tips or suggestions

I am using led too and mine seemed the same way then it took off you will be fine. mine has been under a toppled 96x3 its whole time I am new as well to the led just my .02c

Hi BRICN999, I am using a Mars II 700 also. I recently started some seeds under a 65 watt CFL and got a lot more stretch out of the seedlings than I've gotten out of my LED. To answer your question I think you're doing well. Cheers

That was my concern. I started these under a cfl and in a starter kit and they popped right up and grew to about 1.5" in the first 2 days. Its crazy that about a week later they are still 1.5-2" tall but the leaves are definitely looking much more developed. Im guessing the intensity of the light will keep them shorter and more full, I have the light at 42" for now hoping to get a little reach out of them. This site has been a great research but also makes me a bit paranoid seeing so many gorgeous and healthy plants. I think my setup is somewhat similar to this thread https://www.autoflower.org/f52/think-different-autoblueberry-under-mars-ii-700-led-33898.html but I look at those plants and figure im doomed. Haha. Ya ya ya I know. First grow, roll one and relax

Babys Stretching = Searching for Light if enough Light is there then the wont stretch as babys but develope fine. First 5-7 Days the most Growth Action is under the Surface as they start growing Roots. Once a nice Rootsystem is there You wil notice Growth.

You could just as well leave them under cfl as seedlings or at least till a couple sets of true leaves. You can keep cfl a couple inches away and they won't stretch. LED can be too much at first and setting it 42 inches away to compensate isn't effective. If you haven't yet check the manufacturer's guidance for how high the light should be at first and how to lower it.

Wow. The light's really inexpensive. Let me know how it does.

I am on my third grow and finally had success. This time I did not cause a Mg deficiency or give my plants nute burn. If I make it to the end without bud rot I'll be shocked. If I can only give you one piece of advice is do your best but roll with it. You won't learn much without making some mistakes. Peace!
