Grow Mediums 1st coco 600W WILMA DRIP AUTO JACK HERER (GHS) Grow

Day 43 / 6 weeks

I never thought autos can be this big! Smallest one is 85cm biggest one is 1meter tall with crazy side branching. Furthest light distance was 40cm, mostly 30cm from the tops all the time. I left for 4 days, came back and found the tops trying to penetrate reflector hoods glass. Severe calcium deficiency in one of the plants. Calmag flushed each pot with 5lt / 0.8EC. Switched to HPS as of today, reduced light period to 19hours. Started feeding with bloom nutes. EC 1.2 / 27.5C room temp / 23C amb temp / rh around %45 (exhaust operating 7/24). fan operate at half speed.

i have 30cm of vertical space left, i will lst terminal branches if needed.

here we go

Lol.. Shes got a fair amount more to go too!! Can't you blast a hole in your ceiling??!! :D :smoke:

I had a long northern lights that got big. Wish I did some sort of lst. I let it Christmas tree. Looking good man best of luck! Here my NL. This was many moons ago. :( I miss those days.

Ok, Ill take your word. Ceiling is 60cm higher than the tent. I can raise the whole structure with a wooden platform. Its time to sharpen up my long forgotten woodworking skills. I just dont know how to lightproof the extension.

Thats really huge cowboy. How many grams did u pull from that tree? I consider 50g per plant a success for my grow.

thanks for my very first rep waximus!

You can squeeze the taller branches between your thumb and index finger, just enough to crush the fibers so it will bend where you want it to stop.
then gently bend it over at that place.
If you notice any tearing or breaking, just use duct tape or medical tape to reinforce it.
that branch will keep growing, but at an angle now.
the nice thing is, that in response the other branches grow trying to assert dominance.

I was wandering around ur journals. You had killer grows dude. i couldnt find any example of supercropping photos of yours. Could you link me if theres any. I am a bit scared since i have about a month of budding left and want to see how autos react. Thanks.

Yeah ganjalf, I rarely have to resort to it myself.
So I don't have any pictures.
It sounds a lot scarier than it is after you have done it the first time.
The main thing is not to just snap it off.
When you start squeezing it, just work your way around it gently, it will naturally want to go one way or the other.
You want to follow that direction as it is least likely to snap when doing so.

I have broken branches completely off, jammed the frayed end back together and duct tapped it.
leaves barely droop and they heal up fine.

Watch a bunch of you tube vids.

I can say on this issue, auto's and photo's respond pretty much the same.

Gray Bear, thank you very much for your detailed help :pass: i will give it a try in a few days. I still want to wait and see for myself if they overgrow my tent or not. May be they stop at this height. Since I already caught off guard, i dont think a few days will make it much worse.

Day 50 from seed / End of week 7

room.jpg

Vertical growth nearly stopped, 2cm in the last week. Even seed company replied my email as they expect a lot more vertical growth past 40 days. I dont know if changing light schedule, nute regime etc. helped or not. Anyway, everything seems fine except some deficiency issues. Visible bud formations as of day 46.
ph 5.5-5.9 drifting / EC 1.5 / rtemp 27C / atemp 23C / rh 45% / fan at full speed

Indica pheno 95cm
This one is the most bushy of and strangely least nute demanding of all. Others' deficiency means toxicity for this one.
This one is gonna finish first for sure. Some clawing and burning on serrated edges and tips, mostly upper foliage. May be i need to ask this on infirmary.

Pita (pain in the ass) pheno 104cm
I couldnt make this girl happy since the beginning. I found out yesterday that the medium this girl is in has a ph of 5.2! I guess thats why she either seeks cal or mag or p all the time. I dont know how this happened with the same medium and same feeding regime from the same reservoir.. Anyway, flushed with nutes till the medium comes to 5.7ph. Hand feeding seperately with 6.3pH nutemix. I will continue this feeding regime every other day for the next week and see if it helps.

your average anarchist for size reference

stressed out pheno 90cm
This one hates wind and light and have no prob with nutes. Shortest of all. most sativalike looking.
IMG_5529.jpgIMG_5528.jpgIMG_5530.jpg

stunted one 70cm
she grew perfectly in the last 2 weeks. one week behind of all. this is the one i love the most, idunno why.
IMG_5552.jpgIMG_5553.jpg
photos look like they have green filter applied on but they dont. just taken under 2700k ;)

Btw, i remember saying coco hydro grow looks easier and requires less maintenance than soil because it was easy in the beginning, now iam eating those words with a salad dressing.

I have a few questions if anyone of you fellow growers have time to answer.
Is this variance considered normal for a grow from seed Or can i say this auto strain is unstable? Or should i only grow clones in a recirc drip system? Id appreciate any kind response.
