OG KUSH @ day 26

----

nothing special really happening.

both plants got some plain bottle of water ph 7 (about 10oz)

- pictures were taken after the watering was done. (30 minutes before lights ON)
- you can see that i transplanted OG KUSH to the 3L air pot (a little lower than i wanted -- but its all good)
- now both plants are about the same height.

thinking about starting some LST on the plants to promote the side growths.
- starting to get bushy all over.

The pH of the run off is more important as it's the indicator of your soil pH. Ideally they both should be about the same. Feed at 6.3, run off at 6.3 indicates your soil has a stable pH. You're having to feed a higher pH because you soil was too low. 6.3 - 6.5 is the ideal range for soil.

hey muddy.

so ive been reading more on ph in and out.

seems to have some different opinions from user to user..

some users just test PH IN and dont bother with PH OUT
some users test PH IN and PH OUT

so is ph IN or OUT more important?
or
are they both equally important?

ex: ph in 8.0 -- ph out 6.5 (this obviously would be good for ph out.. but ph in is high)

ive been reading that ph in at 6.3-6.8 for soil = ideal.

should i focus more on ph out than in?!

thoughts?

LR #2: steady grow
- still no signs of preflowers
- lst started at day 23 @ start of lights on

problems:
- edges of leaves are burnt

1) heat/light burn?
2) nute burn from soil?

diagnostic:
- burn doesnt seem to spread - staying at the leaves close to the lights

solution possibilities:
- moved lights up to about 3"-4" inches above canopy

OG KUSH: still growing.
- lst started at day 28 @ start of lights on
- you can see the plant reaching towards the lights

----

quick note:
- last feeding was bottled crystal geyser @ 7ph neutral.

LR #2 is barely moving/growing.

i thought it was about to have a growth explosion -- guess i was wrong.

really hoping that it starts to kick it up a notch once it starts to show pre flowers (whenever that is)

----

side note:

is this the type dolomite lime that i need for soil stability?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dolomite-Li...ertilizer_Soil_Amendments&hash=item4cfd59c181

im going to need some help ladies and gentlemen.

just flushed the 2 babies today with roughly 2 gallons of water each (ph of about 6.5-7)

checked the run off of both plants and it was at about 5.0! (towards the end of the flush)

talk about nutrient lockouts =(.

definitely thinking that its my SOIL!
(which resulted to a slurry test)

----

30 mins slurry test (thanks for the link again smithee)

cup 1: tap water @ 8.5 w/ 1/2 cup of the dirt mix
cup 1 result: ph of 5.0

cup 2: bottled water @ 6.5 w/ 1/2 cup of dirt mix
cup 2 result: ph of 5.0

----

no wonder the plants arent growing like their suppose to.

i have some dolomite lime coming in from ebay (should be here by monday at the latest)
- which is most likely the next water day (since they both just got alot of drink today)

guess this is the whole part of trial and error for the first grow.

----

any soil suggestion for my next grow?

im thinking of maybe just using some FFOF

thought / comments / questions / suggestions / conversation are all welcome as always.

Bro...... PH.......causes........... DEF.

hey auto.

yes definitely -- specially the lockout.

guess i just have to wait it out for now -- until the dolomite gets here.

----

any thoughts on happy frog/ffog soil combo?

ive read other journals using em with no problem -- i dont know why ths ph is sooooo low.
