What up what up this is my first time ever making edibles and crock pot cannabutter.

I used 13.1 grams of trim and airy buds, from an outdoor grow of the old fart which is my own cross of geezer from OE seeds (on afn) and a reggie plant, to Half a pound of butter. It's been on low setting for almost 7 hours

Will be making one batch of cookies and brownies.

Let's see how my cannabutter comes out I'm excited for this :smoking::pass::pighug::woohoo: 20160709_185658.jpg

Well it's going now on to 9 hours of low temps.

Update
I already extracted liquid from the herb, but I think I should of added more water around 4 or 5 hours in.
First time so I don't mind because now I know what to do for next time.
Picture of the butter will be posted up tmrw :).. peace

Thanks for the rep man @budelee , no i did not test it but I just had two cookies let's see what happens when they kick in.
Awesome..if we dont hear from ya in a bit..we'll know they were good!!! Peace ...

Oh man sorry bout that I never got back to this thread lol. @theRealDespotic

They were good but needed a lil more ooomppphhh (kick) so this time around I'll be making an oz into a half pound of butter but I'll be decarbing first so they can have that potency.

Thanks dude. I've just started playing with the edibles since I've got so much nug to work with, it's kindof a strange sensation.

I have a good friend who makes butter all the time out of vaped remnants. He has been bragging about how delicious it is, all nutty and wonderful post vaping. He says that he gets up for hours and really like it. I'm not saying that he knows what he's doing. He isn't a cannabis connoisseur, but has culinary arts education.

His process is to use about a half-ounce of vaped bud in 1lb of butter and simmers it on the stove. Put the butter in the pot, melt it down til it just starts to bubble then add the bud and simmer it. Let it simmer uncovered, not violently, just on low. As it simmers, a foamy layer will form on the top and once it starts to turn brown, remove from the heat and pour over a coffee filter to strain it. After it's strained, cut in a cubed 1/2lb of butter until it melts, then refrigerate until solid and use as you would use butter. I haven't tried his product but he and our buddy who owns the vaporizer claim it to be the tits.

So I've got 8 ounces of straight haze sativa bud that has a very uplifting and clear-headed high. It has no bag appeal so I can't convert it directly into currency and I figured I'd try doing some butter with it. I assumed that since mine would be unvaped then it should be more potent. I decided to use 1oz in 1lb of butter then cut in another lb of butter. I followed the same steps as I outlined above and now I have 2lbs of butter. I made a batch of my famous chocolate chip cookies with 1/2lb of the butter and turned it into 49 cookies. At the end of the day, I can eat 4 cookies and it'll basically put me to sleep in 2 hours or so.

I don't know if this is evidence that it "worked" but I expected a lot different experience from the stories others have been sharing. Since this was my first time I was anticipating the potential for failure. I was led to believe that the time on the burner would decarboxylate the herb but I didn't necessarily know the temperature. It simmered for about an hour.

I'm thinking that I could try decarbing the cannabutter in the oven the same way you would otherwise do the herb but I don't know if that will be effective or not? I was thinking that I could try to decarb some new herb and mix it in with the existing butter to up the oomph.

Any body here have recommendations on how to proceed to get a better experience? What concentrations have been working for you? I'm comfortable ramping things up to avoid a "bad mushroom" type of trip which I've been warned can happen to someone getting a little overzealous with the edibles.

Thanks
