I got the days mixed up in my last post, it was actually day 8 and 10. When I realized that I wasn't allowed to edit the post anymore.
Anyway, today is day 14 and the plants are growing well. Even though I have seen it before, I'm amazed at how quickly they grow. They started a bit of vertical growth as well having grown 1-2cm in 2 days.
Day 12
Day 14
I still haven't watered them, although the top soil is dry the pots are still quite heavy. I only give them a bit of water around the stem as I'm not sure how far the roots extend. Maybe I give them another day or two before a proper watering. What do you guys think?
I finally figured out why the pots weren't drying out. Due to the low humidity I placed a jar of water with a towel hanging of the side. Some of the water dripped onto to the tray the pots were standing on. However, since the pots are slightly elevated I didn't think they would be able to soak up any water but looking closer I noticed the soil sticking out of the holes of the pot was quite wet. To top it off I also realised that the switch on the timer was in the on position so they have been getting light 24/0 for the past couple of days up to a week. :Stones slap:
Fortunately it doesn't look like it harmed the plants so I'm not too worried about it and I made sure the water doesn't drip onto the tray anymore and flipped the lights back to 18/6.
Since the plants hade finally dried out a bit I gave them a proper watering with a full dose of root stimulator at pH6.5. The run-off was in the 6.4-6.5 range.
Day 16
I noticed at day 15 that ABB#2 and #3 already started showing pre-flowers. ABB#1 showed pre-flowers at day 18. I hope they will still have a decently long stretch so that I can fill up the screen a bit. They also started smelling a little bit.
Day 18
It also became clear that the stretching had already started, ABB#3 is growing around 2cm per day and is around 18cm tall and that means it's also time to put in the screen. I will put it around 18cm above the soil, that should still leave me enough room to work on them. I also put in the 250W CFL. Last grow I switched around day 25 and I thought I would try and switch them a bit earlier this time. I have a feeling it's better to have more light with less than optimum spectrum than the other way around.
Love reading your journals man, i like the way you wait a few days and take pictures and use it as one update. Really easily see how the plants are growing so fast. Looking really good man.

ABB#3 has gone on a bit of a growing spree growing 3.5cm a day. ABB#1 on the other hand seems content staying pretty short, I had to put something below the pot to bring it a bit closer to the light. It is still growing 1 cm a day so perhaps it's just a bit delayed.
I got myself a new camera, I used it for the second set of pictures. It's a sony dsc-hx20, I haven't had a lot of time to play around with it yet so in the pictures the only thing I changed was the white balance. It has a nice feature where you can set a custom white balance setting by taking a picture of something white under the light source you plan to use and then it automatically compensates so that it turns out white in the pictures even if the light is yellow or blue.
Day 20
I just put up the screen and started pulling ABB#3 below. I always have a bit of trouble with the first pulling below the screen. The plant has a tendency to straighten out and grow sideways and up rather than staying bent. If anyone has any tips I'd be happy to hear them. For now I used a twist tie to try and keep it in place.
ABB#1 is still staying pretty short so I put something below the pot to bring it a bit close to the light. I'm a bit concerened about this one as the leaves are always slightly tacoed and it's just not growing at the same pace as the others. I guess we will see if it picks up.
Day 22
The plan is to place all three pots in a line once ABB#1 reaches the screen and let them grow from left to right. Last time I put the pots in the corners and let them grow like a square. The drawback with that is that one plant ends up below the ballast of the CFL where it gets much less light. It is also a bit tricky to direct the growth to fill the screen and I'm hoping this way will be a bit more straightforward. Additionally in this way the only thing below the ballast will be the pots and stems, hopefully.
ABB#2 also reached the screen but has to grow a bit more before I can pull it down below the screen. It's almost time for another watering and I'm contemplating whether I should give them a low dose (1/5) of veg nutes or not. Plagron says that grow mix contains enough nutes for the first 3 weeks but since the growth is still very green I'm not sure if I should add anything more?
I had a bit of mishap today in the morning while pulling down ABB#3 below the screen for the second time.
I forgot to remove the twist-tie that was keeping it tied to the screen and it snapped just above the twist-tie. I really should have known better as I had a similar incident last grow but I was in a bit of a hurry. :Stones slap:
It wasn't a complete break and I taped it back together using a toothpick as a splint. The picture above was taken about 12 hours after and it looks like I might have gotten lucky this time as it has only wilted a bit on the left side.
Last grow I snapped an Automazar nearly clean off, it was only attached by a tiny sliver of skin and even that survived and ended up being the 2nd best yielder out of 4.
To be sure I will be able to continue pulling it below the screen once the break has healed I tied a string below the break and the other end I tied to the pot, LST style. In this way I should be able to keep the plant growing sideways without putting stress on the break. I hope it won't affect the yield too bad.
