Greetings,
Have been lurking and learning for some time and feel inspired to say hello. I just cut my very first harvest about three weeks ago and have a second girl getting closer. i can’t even begin to quantify what I’ve learned in the last few months (these are my first autos and first grow period). Anyway, looking forward to comparing notes with everyone.
Cheers

Thanks Archie. All of my first seeds came from growers choice - first to harvest is a critical purple, and behind her a sour kush. Growing in fox farms soil in 2 gal smart pots, in a tent in unfinished basement. Started the whole deal back in August, and I’m in the South East, so humidity was my first hurdle... worked out well while I had seedlings, but quickly became a problem, or at least a concern. I left town for two days in September, and learned a hard lesson about attention - they were not happy to be left for that long. Compounding that I had just started nutes about a week or so before I left and my initial read when I came home to discolored leaves was that I’d burned them. It’s taken me over a month to learn that the biggest issue was a cal mag deficiency. And just recently I’ve got the sour kush back to what I think is healthy. The critical purple powered through although she was stressed . I also harvested a tad early, worrying about the humidity- I did three phases and the third is what I’m considering the cream of the crop, so now I know to wait a little longer after I think I’m ready. For my first grow I’m happy to have about ~20g dry. Although the dry/cure is where I think I need the most work. I thought I was in the clear in jars and this morning I noticed the tiniest bit of mold in one jar. I’m frantically trying to salvage what I can, and frankly I’ll be elated if I wind up with a quarter of solid bud from this first stab at it. Plan to put my mistakes behind me for the next one.

That's the spirit, straight back on the horse

@WendellBerryKush Welcome to AFN. I was a long time "Lurker" as well in fact I used to have a badge for lurking. Experience is the best teacher but we will nudge you in the right direction if we see you going off the rails. Happy growing!:growing:

Welcome @WendellBerryKush ! No better place and no better time to grow and learn. Getting to the finish line of your first grow is a huge accomplishment, and the process will get easier and more consistent with each grow.
Just have fun!
