Hey AFN, I'm a new grower and this is my first auto. It's a Buddha fem auto from their 10 seed mix pack. She's under 8 23 watt cfl's mix spectrum in a hand mix soil. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. The growth just seems very odd, she doesn't seem to be reaching out and the leaves don't lay flat. shes at day 18 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whats in the soil mix? How often are you feeding and watering? What size pot?

Thanks for the quick response Jim Dandy
The soil is the Fullduplex mix.
25lb bag of compo
18Qt Bag perlite
3 cups of Blood and bone Meal
1.5 cups of powdered egg shells
1.5 Cups of Epsom salt
1/2 cup of sea weed kelp
1 cup of powdered baby cereal
And only ph'd water to this point.
The pot is a 3 gal. Root builder II

Sounds like a solid mix but there might be a lack of pH buffers like lime or oyster shells. 1.5 cups of crushed egg shells doesnt sould like a whole lot but I have no experience using them besides throwing them in the garden.. Have you checked the pH of the run off? I cant really see the little lady having a nutrient deficiency in that mix after 18 days.

I have oyster shell by the boat load, as I raise chickens. How much would you recommend ? And would I need to crush it to powder? As far as the run of ph, I haven't given a full water as of yet. The soil is still slightly moist from the original planting.

I would check your PH of your run off water, should be around 6.5. Start feeding veg nutes with nitrogen at one half dose and also some cal-mag will help. Those egg shells take a long time to work and you are probably low on calcium and magnesium. You have alot of lights and I wouild move them higher and that will get your plants to reach a litle and with some nutes should start gaining some height.

Ok so as far as nutes go I have fish emulsion, molasses , epson salt, big bloom, grow big, tiger bloom, kangaroots, microbrew, cha ching, open sesame, beastie bloomz, and sledge hammer flush.
What would you recommend I mix with what I have available? And thank you for your response and advise.

Thanks for the input. I just raised the lights and fed 1 tsp grow big , 1 tsp molasses , 1/2 tsp microbe brew , 1/2 tsp kangaroots 1/2 gal of water mixture was PHed to 6.5 . The run off had a ph of 6.1 I'll update with any changes in her progress. Again thanks for your help

Well it's day 20 and she really seemed to benefit from the combination of raising the lights and the feeding she got yesterday. I don't know if you can tell from the pics but she's started reaching for lights. The leaves still aren't laying flat but their a lot better than they were. It's amazing the changes you can see in a day

Good luck Tino! Maybe she was just a slow starter, but I think she looks healthy. I like your little gnome! I've been searching for one with a fat doob dangling from his lips
