So you guys recommend light feeding from day one?
Glad to hear you are stepping up to coco coir. It is like the greatest soil/promix ever. So spongy, and just full of air and water. I have used the GH coco several times, and think it is a 4.5 out of 5. It is a little coarser and faster draining, than a few others I have liked more. That is the only negative I could say. I had no issue with toxic salt build up, and I did not have to pre-rinse it. I always let a block soak over night to fully swell and defoliate. GH was the best for reconstituting. It sucked up the nutrient solution quick.
The best coco I have used is FibreDust brand. It reminds me of the texture of Proven Winners soil. Just perfect, and the best earthy humus smell. I think that BeatsPeat is a close second. Not quite as spongy and sweet smelling. Both take all night to reconstitute fully and soften enough to fluff up by hand properly.
I could give a shit less about who makes the nutrients. It is about results for me. If it works the best, that is what I will be using. GH works the best for me.
That's funny. I love it when people come down here and are shocked by some of the coco grows. I really wish my old pics weren't missing. I've done almost everything that can be done with coco. Even my outdoor garden is coco and our compost(compost my kids maintain ). Unlike peat coco doesn't take millions of years to create. The damage miracle grow and fox farms have done to the peat bogs is unrepairable. I'd like to see everyone switch to it.
If you don't come here to better the world then don't bother coming here at all.Having a different outlook does not make me oblivious. I am very familiar with the Monsanto Corp. My family is a farming family. I will not be getting into a social/political debate about commercial farming. You have obviously made your mind up, and I do not come here to better the world. Just help people grow better herb, and learn a thing or two myself. You can have your opinions, and I can have mine. See how the world keeps spinning? Also, Koolbloom is the best bloom booster out there.
