Wow, its getting all complicated here in coco land.
Good info. Way too complicated for me though.
Ill be back later to chime in.
You'll like the coco.

My first grow is in coco/perlite.just seemed the easiest to do after all the research i have done.heres a pic of my baby girl day 7

@A-Train can you explain the system you got? Is it an ebb and flow or drip system? I recommend keeping the ph lower than usual with coco. It has a natural ph buffering that tries to hold a 6.8. So, I would say a 6-5.5 range should do you well. My experience was with hand watering coco in grow bags, but it should be the same essentially.

@A-Train My pH always buffers to 5.7-5.9 range, I use RO water though. I also always add cal-mag supplement from day 1... Even if you're using tap water I still think you'll need to add some since like me you're not using the coco specific nutes, maybe just not as much. And yes before potting up I water with voodoo and cal-mag added. Also personally I would recommend still going with the bagged coco instead of the bricks at least for your first go. I'm sure you can get something equivalent to what I use... I believe the Canna coco is more widely available.

You will need to add some cal. Just they way it is. The brick stuff is fine, bag coir better, but the brick stuff temds to have more pith. Pith is good for holding water, too much pith and I've seen issues. Just inthe frequency of wateringsand amounts. SShouldn't be an issue for you though.
Nutes, well I'm a cutting edge kinda guy. I don't chase ph. Ph in rez can have issues if testing run off. I don't do that either. Just leads to me freakin out. I've run as high as 6.8 in setup and its been just fine. Cal availability is 6.2.
I think you'll be good with the nutes you have on hand all the same. I only occasionally rinse plain water through potted gals. Ebb n flow. I don't bother. Maybe I should, put its how I do it.
It ain't soil....hardest thing you may have with it. Generally speaking plants can look droopy from hnder feeding. But I guess with wicks that's nit an issue either.
Gkad to have you aboard.
