Grow Mediums A-Train needs info on the coco for future run... help a brother out.

Cyco coco is what I'm using now(when I'm not using just water). The only bricks of coco I buy now is for my reptiles but they all work. Even my pricey cyco stores up nutrients over time causing the ph to fluctuate from time to time. I simple rinse fixes that issue or not overfeeding in the first place(my bad).

Since it is an automatic wick system, I would add the 50% perlite or hydrotons. Coco has incredible water holding and wicking capacity. It would have no chance of stratification separation. The extra air should only help speed the growth. I have also seen terrible fungus gnat infestations from overly wet medium. What do you plan on growing in coco first? We all want to know.

That's funny. I love it when people come down here and are shocked by some of the coco grows. I really wish my old pics weren't missing. I've done almost everything that can be done with coco. Even my outdoor garden is coco and our compost(compost my kids maintain ). Unlike peat coco doesn't take millions of years to create. The damage miracle grow and fox farms have done to the peat bogs is unrepairable. I'd like to see everyone switch to it.

Coco mulch or chips work great for lightening it up as well. They just need an overnight soak first.

@Bromeo it is not just replacing peat, which is a great thing, it is using a waste product. One from a crop that is one of the worlds most popular. I also think it works better too. You would probable second me on that. My tomato plants do better than ever with coco. It can actually hold enough water for a big tomato yield. The ph climbs up instead of down, that alone is priceless. It taught me hydro before I switched to DWC.

Hal I haven't decided totally. I have a ton of mephisto and short stuff. White n bubbly and Chem city purp will more than likely make the cut for sure. I think I'm gonna run 3 strains I see the autopots and coco getting huge and I'm in a 3x3. Don't want to over crowd

Hey @A-Train, how about a coco autopot grow battle I'm running Mephisto next as well, either Chem City Purp, Deep Blue C or Sour Bubbly

I got about 60 days left but yes I'll have Chem city purp on deck we can battle it out. No better way to learn a new setup than go against a master of it. Hopefully I can learn something from growing with you my friend. Let's make it official and set it up in the grow battle section

Right on bro, I got 5-6 weeks left in my grow so don't mind waiting a bit longer to get this going... we can set a date once were both about ready.
