I'm using a 2' T5 with 4 bulbs (2 veg/2bloom) that puts out 8000 Lumens. Carbon filter that pushes into an S&P inline fan. There is a 2" passive intake out of the middle back of the box with a couple PVC elbows directly to fresh air. I believe I have a good air exchange going on.

I have 4 Autoflowers. A Northern Storm, a Lemon Haze Auto, a Sour Diesel Auto, and an unknown auto. All feminized. Unfortunately I don't know which plant is which because I'm a goddamm idiot and got my labels mixed up.

Some questions:

Is that T5 gonna be enough to take this to finish? I keep the light about 2 inches above the plants.
I just fed them today for the second time with Fox Farm veg. I put a 1/2 teaspoon into a gallon of distilled water and used almost the whole thing on all four plants. Water drained through the drainage holes just a bit. I've been using the weight of the pot by feel method and it's been working out to about a watering every 3-4 days. Am I giving to much or to little nutes? Do the little bright sprouts mean it's time to switch to the Fox Farm bloom nutes I have or are these simply new leaves forming?

Today prior to watering I noticed they had developed some yellowing leaves towards the bottom of the plant and a few isolated very small yellow patches on a couple higher leaves. Also the leaves looked a bit dry. Is this par for the course as the begin flowering?

Any tips for lowering my temps? It's generally hot where I live and even though I'm getting a good air exchange but my thermometer has hit 87 before but usually stays in the 80-85 range. I'd prefer not to put another hole through my wall to the outside of the house and adding another passive vent to ambient air would only pipe in stale hot air.

I apologize for any formatting f-ups, or if the images are placed poorly, this is my first post here. I love what you folks have built! It's been a terrific resource. Thank you for having me and any advice you might offer.

Oh yeah...you can see that one of my plants is looking totally jacked up. I don't why this is as all four plants went into the soil on the same day and all conditions have been exactly the same. Just a freak? Should I ride it out and see what happens or scrap it and start my last seed?

Hey man, welcome. You should pop over to the introductions section and say hello. Start a journal, put all your info in there so peeps here can see what you are using for when you need help.

The first plant looks super weird to me. Heat stress? It shouldn't look all crispy like that. The others look good though. Have you checked your PH? That is by far, in my opinion, the most important thing when growing these plants. You don't want to get lock out, which it looks like you may be starting to have with the yellowing of leaves (usually means N lock out), I had that but it's fixable. 80-85 is workable, a small oscillating fan will help with that. What's your humidity? I have a grow cab and my temps are 78-84. Humidity super low so I add 3 cups of water with a sponge in to put moisture in the air, works well for me. Check my journal in my sig if you need some ideas. Are you sure there is enough room in there for four plants when they get bigger?

I don't know about Fox Farm line. Try and find a nute schedule, I think you should still be using a little of the grow with bloom, but check that for sure.

Good luck and Karma for your plants man.

Peace.

I don't think 8000 lumens is going to be enough for 4 plants man. I got 20,000 in mine and have had 3 at different stages at one time.

Hey Man..thank you!

I have ignored the ph thus far. Bad newb! BAD! Need to rectify that today. I don't know what lock out is so Ill figure that one out.

My humidity is in the 45-58 range.

I thought Autos stayed small and I though this cab would accommodate four plants but I'm concerned I was very wrong!

I'm going to add a couple of CFL's today to add some more light. I already have an oscillating fan running, would a second help with lowering temps or just move the same temp air around more?

thanks again Dazed!

Dude, flush your plants with PH water. Put 3x the pot size through them slowly. Then like I said, look for a nute schedule for your nutrient line.
Lockout is when the PH of your soil prevents your plants from being able to absorb the nutrients the need. Check your soil PH, check your water PH after you add feed, then check your run-off. Adjust accordingly. I don't use Fox Farm but soil grow should be around 6.5 to be good.
Go easy on them, let them tell you what they want. Honestly, I made the same mistake, ignored PH and it was the root (no pun intended!) of my problems, been plain sailing ever since.
Autos do stay small(ish), but you don't want the flowers fighting for light. Look at 250/300w CFL, they are awesome imo. I've got a 300w dual spectrum (blue\red) and it kicks ass, can get super close without heat stress and like I said, gives of 20,000 lumens. Maybe a 300w red is exactly what you need for flowering? Just a thought.

Hope that helps, start a journal! Keep it up to date and it will help you look back and learn from your mistakes.

Peace!

Hey Cripp

I have ignored the ph thus far.
*Wags Finger!* Naughty Naughty ^_^
I don't know what lock out is so Ill figure that one out.

PH is so damn important. Your plants need a bunch of stuff (nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus etc) at different stages of their development. They can only take and use the nutrients at a certain PH range - if the PH is wrong, it tastes nasty to them and they don't drink it :D

Lock out is when you've got your medium (soil, coco etc) set at the wrong PH (due to not watering properly at the right ph), and your plant wont take the nutrients it needs.
They nutrients you're putting in are "locked out" because the plant can't drink them.

I call this "fighting a losing battle" ^_^

How to sort out lock out

1) Firstly you need to know what your soil PH is.
(here's the calculation guide by goauto6)

Rough Calculation Guide:

Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5

2) Does the soil PH need to go up or down?

3) FLUSH. (At a considered PH) 3 times the amount of water than the pot will hold. e.g 10 litre pot - 30 litres of water.

*IF* your PH was 7 in soil (WAY to high)
Try 10 litres at ph of 5 THEN test the run off again to see where the soil is at.

*IF* it's going in at 5 and coming out at 6 - you're almost there.

Use your best judgement after the first 10 litres.

How to Avoid Lockout

Water at the correct PH with a 10% run off (don't leave your plants standing in run off)

Hope this helps a little.

All the best
Blue ^_^

Welcome to AFN! Check out the 24/7 help section always a good place to start when you have a problem. I don't know about the other strains, but that lemon haze is
NOT a small plant! I'm guessing because you didn't state the area of your grow space, that it is a small area. You'll probably need to LST and prune that haze to keep he under control or she'll take over your space! And that is not enough light. I'd supplement, or better yet, replace them with several ( 6 or more if you can ) 23 watt or better ( 100 watt equivalent, and these are the minimum worth using ) CFLs and use the florescent for side lighting. Just MHO, I'm sure others will give you some good advice also. And those with more experience will help you with your plant issues. Good luck with your grow!

Fuggin A, brothers in herb!!! You folks kick ass. So damn helpful there's a little tear in my red eyes.

lots to digest. Got a bag of CFL's and a soil PH METER next to me now. The ph meter says soil, does that mean its useless for testing my water? They didn't have ph up or ph down. Might have to go online.

thanks for the flush instructions an fox farm schedule!

may all you trip into an unplanned blowjob today!
