From what I've read they need to be greeted with light when they pop out the dirt. I did mine the same and I keep my light about 3 feet away when there newborns
Yo dudes, all a seed needs to germinate is Heat & Moisture. I always use my Light source to germinate them anyway, saves faffing around. As soon as she pops tho mate, get that light up! 18 inches at least.
they poped out the soil do i only water around it or do i have to water the whole bucket and how much water can somebody tell me or give me a link i water the center of soil but the rest of soil looks dry is that ok
Not an expert but going through the same thing just one day in advance of you...
It's my understanding that you should give the immediate seed area just a small shot (2 or 3 fl.oz.) of water but water the rest of the soil in a ring pattern around the edge of the pot.
I think the theory behind that is so dry, outer-edge soil doesn't draw the moisture away from the seed area. We are looking for moist not saturated wet.
I also lightly mist the seedling with a spray bottle of RO water a couple times a day.
I was advised to give it a direct shot of 1/4 cup a couple days later.
Hopefully a more knowledgable green thumb will fine tune what I have said.
I would get it higher than 17 inches bro , especially with a 600w, get the light about 2.5-3 ft away if the seedlings start to stretch bring the light closer. You have to find that happy-medium when you start.
I was advised to keep mine (600w hps) 3 feet away when they were babies n move it down 5 cms a day until it was a foot away... Which has worked perfect f me
