the dome using hydroton along with soil..5G bucket. then water layered twice, then i mixed the two ..add a liitle water after each layer, turned on airpump after layer is over dome. Listen for bubbly stew cooking sound[emoji15] .. layer water wait .. patients doing it like this IMO. .than pouring a shyt load of water.. and make a drippy paste.. left 2to 3 inchs from top clear turnedd pump up and just wait.. move soil in middle s little and i baby volcano came up. The air after time makes its way thru the soil .soaking up the soil if you think you my have over done with the water. . No worries.... let it sit awhile, few hrs or so with air on, come back and check..turn air up, listen and watch. . Does it look and sound like it was n initial state..

A few more days and I'll have my setup running. I'm just waiting for my Blue Dragon to finish.
Tekgrow, I'm not expecting this setup to give me bubbles to the surface as I'm not going to run it super wet. My thinking is, if you water once to run off, then start the bottom feed, The upper layers can get a bit dryer without harm. I'm looking at it making a good environment out of what what normally be over watering. So if it aerates the lower 1/3 to 1/2, I think it will be just right.

Let mi no how its going.. iam try difrent ways .. i like making shyt work.. or at least attempt. Only failure is no attempt at all.. after 7 hrs... the bubbling has settled down. Yet it still going good in media below.. those bubbles can define your Soils need ...

Home depot or garden center of some sort. It's just small soaker hose. Watching this to decide if I gonna go this way fer winter garden...as I tell the boys "better to be the second to do something an live than the first to die..

might be hard in a smart pot, dunno. anything is worth a try, that's how we learn. I see no reason the vertical setup would not work.
