I am a new member of AFN. I got my medical card in October but because of state laws, my grow location is considered illegal so I've had to wait until I move into new digs to start my first grow. When I purchased my seeds I was ignorant of the different type of seeds I was buying and I purchased some auto feminized Candy Kush seeds from Auto Seeds. I was at a hydroponics store on an island next to my island (I live on a small Island in the Hawaii Archipelago). A gentleman purchasing nutes at the store was relating his first experience with auto-flower seeds and indicated there were idiosyncrasies in regards to growing strategies with the different strains of cannabis. That is why I began researching auto-flower cannabis and why I registered here on AFN. Hopefully in March I will have moved into my new unit and have both of my tents setup with two seedlings in each tent. I want to honor the no multiple posting of the same topic so I will leave it at that. I do wish to say I am impressed with the civil way you folks treat each other here and I really want to contribute to our knowledge base.

Mahalo nui loa for the wonderful aloha you folks have bestowed upon me. I have been following journal grows and I just read the link on auto-flowers 101 as it were. I definitely have a better handle on how I think my first grow should go thanks to you folks here at AFN. As soon as I get moved in next month I will start my first journal. I have been reading ooog's grow journals and I think I will try the same nutes and see if I get similar results. Scrog is also indicated as it just makes so much sense. Anybody grow indoors in Hawaii here at AFN please let me know if you have had any pest issues or had to deal with P.M. or bud rot? I am going to try the UV-B T5 lights to see if I can produce higher trichome production. I also thought I would buy a UV-C light such as the clean light to ensure a mold/fungus free crop, any thoughts on UV-C? I just don't like the idea of treating my medicine with a harmful anti fungal but perhaps UV-C affects the plants negatively genetically? I don't have those answers yet. I do know that cleanliness is paramount to a successful grow and most pest/mold/fungus issues are non existent or go away if you monitor your grow space enviroment and keep it clean.
