Hi guys I have 2 autoflower that are about a month old today I have tried to use an lst technique I think I have done it right and the pictures ain't great but what I gave done is tie string half way up the main Cola I have then attached the string to the side of my tent to pull the main Cola to the side so it is the same level as all the other top buds is this correct or should I remove the string before I cause damage to them

Thanks guys uploadfromtaptalk1410859344184.jpguploadfromtaptalk1410859352958.jpg

Hmmm, need better photo to see where you are in flower but looks fine. Did it start to stretch yet? Keep it tied down but allow the new growth to grow up towards the light, I swear by proper lst techniuques will give you the same thing as a scrog.

I start LST after day 10 and abandon it at day25, when branches get hard and do not bend much anymore.

What you did is bending main stem a little and put it to the side, I would not call that LST. But nothing can be seen from your pictures.

Be carefull, 30 days old branches brake immediatelly if you exaggerate with force.

If you have just lowered main cola and can use light lower now and closer to other bud sites maybe it will work a little. But as you can see from reports, not many people do that even if top cola is disturbingly high. Main stem is just to hard to bend and to easy to brake and results of such bending are questionable.

Better pictures would make more clear what you really did.

Good Luck!

Its been flowering for a few days now the plants ment to be a 60 day grow so it's about half way through I just thought that bringing the main Cola to the level of all the other Colas would allow me to distribute the light better and increase my yield and make all buds the same kind of size I'm looking at it from a science point of view as I'm still a new grower and this is only my second crop

I don't care what any one says yoru allwing more light to penetrate. and, exposing a hell of a lot more area. Don't worry the idea is good, you should do it earlier next time.

Well, it may have some effect which might also be negative if you damage main stem.

If you LST young plant, everything turns upwards in couple of hours and it changes the way it grows, if you LST older plant, you just bend and plant does not adjust much to changes.

But I do not say your technique will not work a little bit, I just say that I do not see many people doing that and that was why I have never tried to bend older plant to get more light for lower bud sites. I rather start LST at day 12+ or around and that changes plant completely. At the end there is no need to remove main cola, because there are at least 4 main colas per plant.

You can see in my grow https://www.autoflower.org/f52/2-x-think-different-plagron-lm-soil-airpots-2-x-gn006-36498.html how branches beautifully adapt to early LST.

I wish you good luck, just enjoy your work, but if you want LST to really work, start earlier.
