Holla my Fellow brothers from different mothers.

Here where I reside we have a humid subtropical climate , have mostly been growing durban poison here , but interested in some other strains that would be suitable for this weather .

Any advice would be appreciated. I have been looking at the following strains.

1. dutch passion-think different
2. buddha seeds - buddha magnum
3. short stuff-super stinky
4.Jock horror

Hiya Roodels,

Here is a link to another SA grower Reaf- prepare to be impressed. Not seen him for a while.

I can't fault your choice of seeds. Everyone a winner. As to their suitability for your climate, I can't say. Here in the Black Country, when we see the Golden Orb in the sky we bow down, worship and sacrifice a virgin. It's happened three times in my life. Never found a virgin though.

Keep in touch and enjoy AFN. eP.

Welcome to AFN Roodels!!! Great line up of seeds for sure. I can speak on the magnums, but not under your comditions. The rest of your lineup are good ones too. Hang tight and someone with hot/humid experience will chime in. Glad you found us!!

Welcome to AFN roodles. You have some great strains going there. How about starting a grow journal; we would love seeing photos of what you have going on.

I would love to , but how safe is one's identity on here ?

Hi Roodels,

You're identitiy is safe as long as you don't give it away :)

For extra security, you could hide behine a VPN (virtual private network) that will encrypt your IP address and it'll look like you're in another part of the world. (i'd pick a legal part) - They cost around $15 a month and you can google "buy vpn" for choices.

Also, you should remove any addittional information from your photos (called exif data)

Here's an awesome guide to doing that by A4 (legend)

Remove Exif Data From Camera Phone Pictures By A4

With recent news coming out in the States about several different agencies checking cellular phone data and spying on their citizens I have seen some questions about how much info pictures contain. I thought I would make a short tutorial on how to strip exif data from your pictures. Exif data for anyone unfamiliar with this, is metatags that are embedded in photos. This data could be as little as the ISO, image size, and things like this that aren't really a concern to you but it also may contain very important information such as GPS coordinates, name and such. This is even more prevalent in newer smart phones and cameras that are being used. So, it is always important to make sure you strip data from your pictures before posting them on the internet.

This tutorial was made using WIN7, if you are using another Windows release it should be about the same and if you can't figure it out you can always PM me with your OS and I will walk you through it. There are also free programs out there that will strip the data for you such as ExifTool which can be downloaded here -> http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

So the first thing you want to do is locate your picture and right click on it.

From there, select properties and at the top of the Properties window you will select Details.

That will open up a new window. At that point make sure "Create a copy with all properties removed" is ticked and select OK.

At that point, you will have a copy of the picture with all data removed. You will be able to tell the first picture from the one with data removed as the latest one will say "Copy" in the file name. I always make a point of deleting the old picture with data in it so there are never any concerns in the future.

I hope this little tutorial helps you in your quest to stay safe on the internet. Remember, you are only as safe as the least safe person. Be careful who you talk to and share personal information with. You never know who is on the other side of that mouse!

Don't tell people your name, address, don't try and trade things or accept things with people you don't personally know. And just a dose of common sense will see you right.

The servers are safe and housed in a safe place (geographically).

So yeah :) Get to it! let's see you get the grow on :)

Welcome Rood! Blue has you covered - your identity is safe unless you do something to give away who you are. Most of us are small scale personal growers anyway, so we're not a big target for law enforcement. You have a much, much higher chance of being busted for something that happens in real life than you do anything you post online.

I suggest you swing over to the general forum and start a thread there to get the largest response. Maybe include some details about hours of light, average day/night temps, etc. We have lots of members who grow autos in heat and humidity so you are sure to get some good suggestions. :goodluck:

Thanks for the info Andy , I am considering waiting for RCMC to receive more stock of some seeds from Highrise , have heard they are very resistant to mold.

Id consider mephisto hbss. Buds tend to foxtail and dont get super dense, but they are frosty and potent. More of a sativa / up high and they mess me up. Also they are great guys and will do you right if you order direct!
