Mephisto Genetics Anyone else having issues with Grape Crinkle?

I've had strange strain specific issues before. I grew out 3 sour stomper that just never flowered. Each got to about Day 60 and got culled even though no one else had an issue. @mephisto when you select seeds for shipping are they all mixed up prior or would they all be from the same plant/bud etc. Sometimes you just have to put it down to bad luck imo
I can see that possibly being the case if it was just one but this is the third one to do it

I start the seeds the same way every time by dropping them in a glass of water and then when the sprout the tap root I put them in the soil. So I do handle them with my hand but I still don't see why it would be this strain 3 times and no other strains. I may just have super bad luck with them

All seeds for sale are mixed from the selected plants from that run, the only ones I keep segregated are my Mitch's pick ones, where I select the very best plant(s) - sometimes two, from the batch, and I'll use these to grow out the next generation.

Here's the last shot I have of my second one before the chop...

Yeh them growing as single colas is pretty baffling,

Basically for us, they grow rigorously as seedlings, nice early branching and largish intermodal gaps, they look like they will monster but actually then switch super hard into flower - hardest out of any strain I can think of (in this manner) so don't put on mega size after that point it's all flowers

Cheers Mitch

So if they have a very short veg period before going full on into flower, would that suggest that something is happening early on in life and this strain is just more susceptible to a "mistake" early on due to the short veg? If it was delayed for a week very early on say, that would be way more damaging to this strain than a longer running strain.

Seems logical to my vulcan brain.

I've grown out a few, maybe a dozen, 4 going now, haven't seen one like that. I hope your next one makes up for it. :vibe: It's possible, have you seen @HotBunz 12oz GC ?

Yeah I'm curious about this as well, I have two of three 24carat that are basically 8 inches tall. I'm wondering if high powered lights reducing internodal gap might contribute to this shortness (and reduced branching as a result of reduced light penetration through the thick "canopy")

For sure, in comparisons we've seen, led's kept plants much tighter, maybe 50%

Anything I'm talking about is always under hid, hps/de-hps/cmh,

At least with the heights we record. To me anything under a foot I would say I've stunted it somehow,

Cheers Mitch

And hands were washed each time. Like no cigarette residue or anything like that causing contamination of any kind.

Also how has they grown. Have they been slow from the very start or did they stall at done point after normal growth?

We just need to try and rule out any variables you can think of. Because it doesn't sound like a pheno thing to be that small. 5 inches indicates something else I would imagine.
