I thought I would try and trap some craw fish this summer and I have read some info and watched some videos on you tube.

Do you have a mummified chicken foot at your disposal?
Me & my friends would always go crawfishin during the spring floods...
rottener stinkier chicken or fish guts for bait in the trap the better...
idk about catchin & eating shellfish during a month in the summer without an r in it...
may june july august...there's something to some of those old wives tales...
bad juju... I don't think you suppose to do that...
I put a giddy giddy on my traps to keep poachers offa em ... (use the chicken foot)
as far as I can tell it worked :)

depends on the source.
In rice fields and swamps, when I was a kid, we would take a piece of plywood out there about thigh deep and stand on it. After about 10 or 15 minutes you could feel critters crawling on your toes.
Then we would hop off the plywood and it would slowly rise to the surface, the crawdads would never know until the plywood breached the surface and we would scoop up about 20 or 30 big ones and toss in the bucket.
Shrimp & minnow traps work good in creeks and such. Frozen canned cat food works good for bait.

I used a minnow trap, it worked great, or catch them by hand. Sneak a hand in behind them, then lower you other hand in front of them, they jump backward right into you hand!

Droooool slurrrrp Mmmmmm keep up this thread. My beak is watering.

You know where to send any spare catch ( or bait for that matter )but not the cat food!
