Watts per plant or COBs per plant is a bad metric in my opinion, because what's a plant? Is it a 6-foot man-eating monster or a clone-to-flower popsicle in a Sea Of Green?
Watts per square foot isn't perfect either, but as long as we're talking about high quality COBs (2.0-2.2umol/J) then 37.5 watts per square foot is a tried and true method for maximizing yields. So, three 55 watt COBs should cover about 4 square feet.
A beginner grower (or an organic grower) would be doing well at 1oz per square foot. That would be 1lb per 4x4. 2lb per 4x4 is sort of a bench mark for being a skilled, professional grower. If you're growing organic its much harder to hit, but the point is that 2lbs per 4x4, or 2oz per square foot, should be enough for any grower to call it a decent run.
So, from your 155 watts of COBs (4 sq. ft.) I think you should be satisfied with 4oz. and if you can hit 8oz. be really proud of yourself!
If your situation calls for more power you might want to check out The Cannon here on my AFN Forum. It gets 2.0umol/J and the cost in dollars/watt is a lot lower if you get one big, powerful COB.
