atrain's going organic!!! prep and grow journal.....empty compost bins to buds in a jar..... lets go

along with the fan leaves stems and root system of the white widow as an offering to the cannabis gods for the next harvest lol ive been a little lazy the past few days so I havnt added the cow manure but maybe this weekend or first of next week . That should really get things cooking

I keep a separate box of soil just for returning leaves/roots/stems, it stays in that box to compost for at least 90 days before being moved to another box to be amended and cooked for another 30-60 days. I'm going to be curious to see how long your compost bin takes to work because 90 days is a long time :D

daaamn atrain, the white widow wow! when I first started reading your mg grow I thought "oh no,these are not going to make it!" but figured I'd watch to see how it worked out. boy was I wrong. and now I'm going to start my own composting bin and learn from you, The Miracle Grower! +rep

Miracle grower lol wish I could change my name here and I wpuldnt say learning from me ide say learning together... im doing a lot of research but this is a first for me as well

Im trying to find as many ways possible to speed the breakdown ip and so far ive found many say a 5 to 1 ratio leaves to cow manure will get it going

Ill aquire more leaves and a load of manure soon and I guess well see

Hey nice grow man. You will be happy once you start getting compost and ewc. How big is that compost box? A larger pile heats up better.

The box is 3 by 4 and im gonna get the pile up a little larger this weekend when I add more leaves and a load of manure.... since I been muchimg them.first it takes a lot more work but well get it bigger and get it "cooking" soon hopefully... thanks for the compliment and hope you tag along

Ok after researching more on the leaf pile for composting I found that shredded leaves compost much faster and also produse more for the area used so I dumped my more than full bin and got the lawn mower out and ran it over. In aboit 10 min I had it nicely shredded bit it reduced down to less than half the volume from before so I guess its back to the holler to collect more. My pond needed a little cleaning around the edges so I extracted a bucket of moss from the banks with a steel rake and added it along with the fan leaves stems and root system of the white widow as an offering to the cannabis gods for the next harvest lol ive been a little lazy the past few days so I havnt added the cow manure but maybe this weekend or first of next week . Bro the leaf compost/mould is absolutely killer, this is a great thread, nice work. :Sharing One:

Thanks man im doing as much research as I can hopefully with the help of you guys again and wonderful input well be able to make this thing happen

Hey, atrain! Glad you invited me to come over here.
Excited and honored to follow along your organic journey. I wish I had the space to do it like that. Id be doing using that on a nice space for some outdoor ladies.

Thats White widow looks amazing btw. Just wait until you try your organic meds. You will never look back.

my first grow(failed), was with a soil just like MG..it was called vigoro. Had issues with it, and ended up scrapping it do to spider mites. After seeing how it did in that soil. I decided to go organic as well. Like medi grower too haha. Once you go organic, you will never panic...or something like that, that rhymes hehe.

Ill be here for the long run my friend. Ive not made compost myself. So, hopefully Ill be able to offer my help in some way.

Though, I noticed something, and it seems someone commented on it. All those buds coming inside with the soil.
Your going to be using this indoors if Im not mistaken?

Id definitely recommend having some sort of organic pesticide.
Neem, or something similar to cali clean..which is basically habenero chili tea. Dr.Earths has one. I have not tried it yet. Its organic, and has extracts/oils in it. Garlic oil, peppermint oitl, rosemarry oil..etc.

Thats the only thing I can think to add atm =)..Cheers my friend. Im loving this thread already. :Sharing One:

Thanks for dropping in bud I agree with the bugs part.... luckily the white cheese won the 420 mag potm also and I won an entire line up of organic pest control and I planned on composting and harvesting the soil outside then when I mix the clackamas coot style soil admendment from build a soil and allow it to cook inside when I plant the cover crop im going with in 7 gal containers using the organic bug control to. try and combat any bug problems for the month or so while it cooks then once its ready and hopefully bug free with only the good stuff living in it ill drop the beans!!! Thats when things should get interesting I also have researched harvesting the vermicomlost and preserving it that will be done inside also but I am working on the wife about bringing my bin in ( dont know how far that will go :()

Thanks for the compliment it means a lot coming from such distinguished growers the MG soil did present some challenges and I had to make a lot of adjustments along the way but is ending up turning out some amazing plants imo. But def looking foward to the organic side (or my wife is)

For anyone who doesnt know I am a army veteran (combat medic) and I just happened to meet my wife in the army as well. She was also a medic and were both out now and she has some sevice connected dissabilities but hates the meds the v.a would give for her symptoms so I have decided to grow her medication even though I cannot partake in this wonderful plant myself due to job restrictions and frequent screens..... I just love the growing and glad it helps her..... and a few buddies who are loving the cheese right now.
